from what I hear yes it is quite good though rather linear.
Oh and you can get the total war grand master collection for ~40$ right now. That includes every total war game from medieval 2 onwards, and all dlc, and some viking game i never heard of. Regular price is ~160$ http://store.steampowered.com/sub/18406/ Kerbal Space Program is also on sale at 40% off |

Mkay, so perhaps Tomb Raider...
... For crying out loud. I went into this thinking "I pretty much have everything I'm interested in anyway", but... Well, Spec Ops: The Line had the press raving about the story line. Not particularly interested in 3rd person shooters, but if there's this deep underlying narrative, that might just be worth it. Stardrive, very promising but not quite finished. Can't complain for the price it's going at. Again a fair bit of raving about fiendish puzzles and such for The Swapper. I do like them puzzles. Torchlight 2... First one was alright, but this one has MP. Drag some people in there, should be a blast, really. I'm so screwed. ![]() *ha, scrub TR. The DLC situation is ridiculous. Package it into a gold edition and put that on sale, I'll part with the moneys then but not like this.

I'd go for the complete collection, I think CO is used for most mods now, and the BAF/PMC DLC is also extensively used.
But I don't play it that often, you may want to hear from a regular player. ![]()

I have Torchlight 2 I like it a lot it is pretty fun and vastly improves on TL1 it also has a lot of pretty cool mods in Steam Workshop.SynergiesMOD is very cool I have about 66 hours into it after a few months which is pretty good for me as I jump form game to game it might take me over year to actually finish one game in my library. I also picked up Borderlands 2 yesterday and I like it fairly well you did not mention that so maybe not your thing. |

If you like people who behave logically then you should stay away from that game. I'm about half way through and I can't fathom how ridiculous everybody (including Lara) is behaving. Common sense? Forget it!
![]() I won't spoiler here but the whole game is full of cut scenes where I don't know whether I should laugh or cry. ![]() But I'm saying the same about Far Cry 3. So maybe it's just me.

No, that's pretty common, in any media really. People act to make the plot work, not to make sense.

I got Postal 2 for very little. Don't know much about it, I'm expecting it to be along the same lines as Atari's Paperboy.
Crossed with Michael Douglas in Falling Down.

Dark Souls... thoughts? I like the proposition of something that can kick my bottom but it isn't the best port.

Dark Souls will kick your bottom, hard. It's almost excruciating at times. Well not almost, it is. There were plenty of times when I felt like ripping the controller apart and burning the game. Though, as a disclaimer I must point out that I get frustrated quite easily. So wouldn't recommend it to people who get angry easily due to trying the same thing over and over again as collateral damage will be imminent. But the game might teach some patience, maybe. On the other hand hardness is what this game is about. The joy of accomplishment is phenomenal after you've beat that big monster which you have been trying to beat for days. Dark Souls challenges the player to think. Every enemy has its weaknesses and player must discover and exploit it. There is no hand-holding, player has to find out things by himself. Or by reading the messages which other players (you included) are able to leave on the ground, which is a nice touch. You can also invite players to your world to help beat the bosses. One thing lacking is proper co-operation. Sure you can try to invite your friends to your game but it doesn't mean they will always find your game and are able to join. Me and my friend never were able to play together (though apparently that has been tweaked in recent patches). That is intentional but it would have been quite nice to even play the whole game with your friend. Combat is well done and rewarding. Which of course is a good thing as the whole game is based upon combat. If I had to compare it to something, I'd say Batman Arkham Asylum/City's combat system is somewhere on the same lines. The general atmosphere in the game is somewhat peculiar, eerie even. Partially because the world doesn't really explain itself, the interpretation is once again left to the player. But at the same time atmosphere manages to be peaceful and relaxing. You are all alone save for the ghosts of other players which you can see from time to time, or the fiery letters of messages other players have left in the world or bloodstains which indicates that another player had died there, or the few eccentric NPCs which are scattered around the world. I haven't completed the game and I don't think that is even necessary for the complete enjoyment. It's all about the journey not the destination. Prepare to die and may the bonfires guide you in the dark.
