Just received GWX 2.0 via CD's from a friend via mail(too big to DL due to 200mb limiting), the game plays as advertised and have seen nothing unusual. I have not enabled any of the GWX optional mods yet. The manual makes referance to the "optional skin pack" for Commander. Where is this skin pack? I can't find it anywhere.

The skin pack is already included in GWX......There will be no such pack for SH3 Commander (that was in fact used in GWX 1.03).
This oversight in the manual will probably be corrected in a future edition

Well spotted sir

Thanks Jim
Was driving myself nuts looking for something that wasn't there. A very short drive I might add.

If I were you mate, I would check the file integrity of all 7 .bin files and the .exe by using the supplied HASH checksums..if you do in fact have those 3 files being corrupt, there's a good chance there are others.

You can get the program to check it with...here..
http://www.users.on.net/~jscones/software/products.html

Users can verify GWX 2.0 file integrity with the following MD5 hash if they so choose:

Well..no need to re-download...yet...
Check the values with what you already have, to identify what may be corrupted.

I did, and I'm quite happy about it because that's the correct size for the file. Just go ahead and get the rest

The reason is that one MB is 1024 kB, and the file-size in MBs is actually 199.174
Thanks! Stupid me.... It works great!
I need a faster computer now:hmm:
Anyone experience playing SH3 on a laptop?
If I buy a new computer it might be a notebook.
This is the preferred candidate:
http://www.zercom.nl/index.php?p=35&...=4&s=1&a=84025
But will SH3 work under Vista? I don't want to buy a notebook and discover afterwards that I can not run SH3 GWX smoothly on it....

I'm not famiiar with laptops or notebooks, but I can tell you that GWX can be run while using Vista... However there are special instructions for Vista users in the GWX manual. Please read them carefully.

Default Hi donw

Hi guy

Well - I certainly checked my downloads with the md5 tool - and I needed to redownload 3 out of 7 files again. And after that one of those 3 was corrupt again - so I needed to get 800 MB of downloads just to cover those 3 tiny files.

This was my original concern - to download lots of MBs again. But you convinced me concerning those other possible corrupt files ...

I am sure I am not the only one having to go over this once and again ...

Anyway - thanks again and greetings from Austria to Indiana

And a warm greeting right back at ya Mate! I was lucky I guess, as all 8 files came thru perfect on the 1st try, but yes, I have read several times of folks getting less than perfect DL's, which is why almost from day one, the GWX team supplied those checksums.

I thought I read once that Neal was planning to make a DVD available thru Subsim, but have'nt heard much more about it lately. As fast as news spread about this Mod, and the amount of downloads already completed, its hard for me to imagine anybody in the free world that don't have it by now!

Anyway, I hope you get it all sorted soon. Come back and let us know your 1st Impressions! Cheers Mate!

JimBuna
I think I was the one for the First to DL off you FileFront and it works great.
I am on my 2nd patrol and I love the secondary explosion with all the goodies flying the FPS count is sweet also. I sank a Grantsville freighter off the eastern England Coast and after a short time I had 3 ASW trawler & PT boat looking for me. this is 1939 Oct. I wonder what 1944 will bring :rotfl:
I salute the GWX team.
