I doubt it. They're already downgrading the expected death toll. It's now what around 60k? I hate to say it because it will make some people here crazy but that is in line with this years expected flu range. |

It's not the flu or is that too difficult for you to grasp. It's on top of the flu.

After the Covid-19 pandemic passes, and the AARs are written, the actions taken in the Sate of California are very likely to be held up as a guide of what to do in such situations; the level of what could have gone wrong in dealing with the virus in CA is staggering to think of; given what I've seen in the past regarding the way other problems have been dealt with in CA, no one is more surprised than me over how well managed and handled the response has been:

Confirmed coronavirus cases around the world near 1.5 million, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University.
Almost 90,000 people have died with the virus. The European Union risks failing as a project in the crisis, Italy's PM tells the BBC. UK PM Boris Johnson remains in intensive care but condition "improving" The World Health Organization has defended itself after criticism from Donald Trump. "We're close to every nation," says its head after "China-centric" accusations.

They're having a marked increase in spinouts and flipovers on the freeways here because fools are taking advantage of the near empty (by LA norms) roads and speeding way above the limit and, in some cases, trying to get their 'fast & furious' fantasies lived out by doing very hazardous stunts; the local LEOs are trying to prevent any rise in the incidents by agressively enforcing the speed limits...

China Bio attack? motive?
What does China gain? and if there is one, is that gain worth the losses to china? All its going to do is help drive nations towards more trumpian ethics like reducing the exportation of labour & manufacturing, total suicide when you are the factory of the world. Bankrupt the west when they hold a large percentage of western debt and rely on their trade? also counter productive. Im waiting to see it, because so far Covid 19 has done nothing good for China. just because the FBI arrested some one with those kind of connections it doesnt = bio attack. Just like 'Jet fuel doesnt melt steal beams' doesnt = the CIA planting thermite in the WTC. Last edited by JU_88; 04-09-20 at 07:22 AM. |

First tip off: nowhere in the clip is any mention made of Covid-19, Wuhan, or any of the bandied about references to a bio-warfare lab. The use of the clip seems to be one of those 'coulda, mighta been' extrapolations so common in the conspiracy theory buff circles. This article may help to give a better knowledge of the facts without the fiction:
Was Charles Lieber Arrested for Selling the COVID-19 Coronavirus to China? -- https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/ch...d-coronavirus/ ...and this: No Link Between Harvard Scientist Charles Lieber and Coronavirus -- https://www.factcheck.org/2020/02/no...d-coronavirus/ As noted in the above article, the current extent of the charges is lying to the Feds; no espionage charges, no charges related to bio-warfare, just plain lying to the Feds; in fact, Dr. Lieber could have legally worked with Chinese researchers and academics, but he failed to fully disclose the extent of his compensation from China, so all he is facing is about five (5) years in Federal Prison and a possible fine of up to USD $250,000... The interesting aspect of Dr. Lieber is how very highly regarded he is in his field; he is no obscure, disgruntled low level academic researcher seeking to cash in because he isn't getting the recognition he feels he deserves; this guy is way, way up on the academic honors chain and not the usual sort to be involved in the sort of espionage scenarios usually attending this sort of situation. It should also be noted Dr. Lieber's field of expertise is in Nanoelectronics and brain science. in particular the inorganic science aspect of brain/device integrations. This indicates he verily likely is not the sort of expert the Chinese, or any other government would use for a purely organic bio-warfare project... Just doin' the homework... <O>

Ok how about this?
Two years ago I had surgery and part of my bowel was removed after a colonoscopy found something that could not be removed during that procedure. The surgery went well and the polyp was benign. The surgeon who did the procedure strongly recommended that I have a colonoscopy every two years without fail. In January I saw my family doctor for a referral to see this surgeon. After waiting over two months I decided to call the surgeon's office on Monday. I had a very pleasant talk with his receptionist and we discussed the current covid-19 situation. She then told me that not only was my procedure off indefinitely but all their booked procedures had been cancelled. And this was the case for all surgeons in that hospital which is the largest in this province. She said that it was not their decision but the hospital's policy for the current situation. In fact almost all elective surgery has been put on hold. My question is simple. In fighting a pandemic are we not creating a situation where many people's health will be adversely affected because of a lack of normal medical procedures? I would be curious to know if this is being done in other parts of the world.
