Default @mikaelanderlund and jimbuna

Thanks...
I'm sure it's not due to GWX 2.0 being faulty.
And you're certainly right about the latest driver. As I don't know which old driver download and what outcome it would have on SH4... I prefer for the moment remove the 16 km mod (the sparklings have disappeared).

Well maybe I had a little bit

Even so, if it was that, I didn't see it in 1.03...just curious. It didn't affect the outcome - we got the pounding we had coming!
One of the first things I noticed when I first installed GWX 1.03 recently, and also present in 2.0 now, is the blank "CE:" messages, always when receiving damage. So I was also wondering what was missing there. At such a critical time, it's not helpful for him to lose his voice :rotfl:

So it's simply the removal of the "we have flooding" message?

Small matter anyway - the GWX team have made an outstanding achievement in completing 2.0. I can't thank them enough!

Well BlackHand rest assured harbour raiding in England is very
ill advised at this point 2.0 is masterful in detail and you wont
be dissappointed.

Beat me to it again Mush...

I've done quite a bit of harbor raiding in all sorts of places and years for test purposes I'm not a big fan of it during campaign play normally but it's a challenge on a dreary afternoon....

It can still be done if that's your cup of tea, but rest assured that you will very quickly unlearn any bad habits you might have picked up.

I survived Liverpool, but only through luck, dumbest thing I ever did in this game

Default GWX 2.0 and Crew

I followed the development and release threads of GWX 2.0 and thought that I would give it a try again after leaving SH3 for about a year.
I have downloaded the pack and placed it over a fresh install of SH3, patched to 1.4, and have added the latest version of SH3 Commander.
I am playing on a Dell XPS 720 Dual Core with 4 gigs and dual NVIDIA 7800 GTS cards.
The team that developed this package has indeed done an incredible job, the details added really go along way toward making the game truly outstanding.
However, the attribute that drove me crazy with the initial release of SH3 is the crew management feature. I was not attracted to this game to become a seagoing personnel manager, I had hoped to command a submarine, not spend my time micromanaging the movements of the crew. It may just be my own ignorance of the procedures used to organize a U-boat crew, but I thought that the game might allow you to organize a watch, station and quarter bill for crew management, or a mod that would accomplish the same thing.
I attempted to used the crew management feature included in SH3 Commander and got a CTD after attacking first a single large ship, and then a convoy.
If there is something that I am missing, or another mod that would enhance this feature, I would welcome any suggestions.
If I was capable of building this mod, I would be the first to volunteer to build it. Unfortunately the knowledge that is required to do this, I have not yet acquired.

Respectfully Submitted

Default Thanks to GWX Team

I just wanted to say thanks to the folks at GWX for this mod for SH3. Been playing it off and on for last couple of years (good game to play at work on night shift) and just love the work you guys have done. I'll be seeding it for awhile once my dl completes.

Can you be more specific Mate? Which Crew Mgt option were you using? I despise that whole concept also, and use no fatigue...and have never had a problem, either 1.3 or now with 2.0

This is a first. (CTD report relating to crew management functions. Theretically, it would seem impossible.)

CDR Resser, did you check the integrity of the GWX 2.0 files you downloaded against the MD5 hash available on our website and roll-back SH3 Commander before applying GWX 2.0?

when i start the game, the intros work and the game loading screen shows up and loads, all like normal. but when its done and the main menu should be showing up, i get a black screen with only the mouse cursor leaving a trail. on hitting escape i only see grey "ja" and "nein", like in the exiting dialog. but cant do anything more.

i uninstalled again and tried the same with GWX 1.3 (fresh install, 1.4b patch, GWX 1.3 install) and it works like a charm. so it cant be (just) the new computer.

there is no career data in "my documents" so that cant be the problem either.

anyone knows what that could be?
It sounds as if you have a corrupted installation of SH3 1.4b or GWX 2.0.

You can check the integrity of the GWX 2.0 files that you downloaded by going to the "FAQ" page on our website and reading "Use of the MD5 Mate."

Follow the directions there and let us know how it turns out for you. GWX 2.0 is fully compatible with German settings.

Default GWX 2.0 and Crew

I tried two of the different fatigue profiles listed in SH3 Commander, No Fatigue and 8hr for GWX. I did see the reminder not to use the 24 hr profile in SH3 Commander.
SH3 Commander was applied after GWX was installed on a clean install of SH3 1.4.
I checked the integrity of the files after download and everything was OK.
Other than that there was nothing specific going on in the game. I was cruising away after sinking each of my ships.

Have you attempted to reproduce the problem with a new career profile/different captain name?

This problem it's solved by uninstall of video codecs you have in my case the K-lite codec.
works perfectly, there must've been a problem with a K-Lite codec. so what to do now without k-lite? ;-) yeah i know, use VLC...
