That's very cool! Been meaning to do something like that for ages but never have gotten around it. MOAR!!
Small update on the main module of the LV-426 project, added more stuff to the roof, still needs few panels and stuff. The beams on the side is my own creation, the sides are different in the movie, but I though this would make it look more 'industrial', the modules are like building blocks that are dropped to colonies. This is hastily sub-D'd so it looks more roundish at some points as it will in the finished thing. |

Well actually it probably took not much longer than an hour, the hardest thing was deciding what colours to do it Just working on getting a poser character into it now. I'm also gonna do a hi res version, mainly for my desktop

Great work Dowly.
Just for fun I looked at prices for 3d programs, seems you need a small company in order to afford the prices they demand. Subscription fees as well! - - - - Edit: Assembled the rear wing to see how it looks like. View of bottom wing from below Last edited by Lionclaw; 06-09-10 at 05:10 AM. |

Bumpmap test! (This is how the sides should look if you use the movie as reference)

Looking good.
I've begun doing the mount for the rear wing now. The two pillars are hovering in the air at the moment, a bit draggy as well with the square shape. The mount is fused with the bottom wing. Suggestions are welcome, looks weird with just vertical pillars like that IMO. Going to shape them into wings later. |

I have embarked upon a new modelling journey so to speak.
Can you tell what it is yet? And no prizes for saying "It's a boat" or "A propeller"!!!

Not far off, I've just a bout finished it now so I might as well tell! 'tis the Turbinia, the first steam turbine powered vessel, launched in 1897. The particular type of engine later powered the Lusitania, Mauritania and HMS Dreadnought.
