Tackling the curbs at Mugello a bit aggressively, resulting in 2 wheel action.
Whoops! Came out sliding out of Ascari. |

This picture is making the round - is the 98T coming this Friday?
Track looks like Monza. Initially I hoped for Spa (modern).

Still not SPArta, but improved clouds, sky, lighting, AI and collisions in 0.8. Improved sky and cloud already could be seen in the screenie above.
If they stick to their announcement on releasing 1.0 in April and their 2-weeks-scheduling, after this Friday they will have time for two more updates before releasing 1.0 at the end of April indeed. I think it is a reasonable guess that in two and a half weeks they will bring 0.9 with MP, and then 0.95 with MP optimizations two weeks later, and then 1.0 . We are closing in on the end of Early Access and basic development phase. And then I will finally have my Spa and Trento-Bondone. To me that are the two highlights that still are missing, MP and even more cars is not my interest. Close to the final release date will come the release of historic Spa - and then its waiting until autumn, for the Nordschleife and the new cars. Life will miss something without these opportunities every two weeks to jump up and yell in childish enjoyment. How to live through this damn long summer?

No 98T this time Instead, a Lotus Exige 240 (that rolls like a mudball).
But the Laudamobile is nice, drives very nice and feels retro without being such a tempting invitation for suicide like the Lotus 49. Like a big kart. AI I will report later.

The Exige 240 seems to handle fine. Haven't driven the other Lotus cars in a while though.
Tried the challenge on the small Silverstone circuit with the Lotus Exos 125 S1. Gold 52s, Silver 53s, Bronze 54s. Did about 30 laps or so in total, fastest I got was 53.011. So close! Needed quite a lot of fiddling with the setup in between the laps. Such a tight circuit in an insanely fast car. My left wrist aches a bit now. |

58.6 for me, but I'm a bit rusty. And that penalty system.

The Laudamobile is a new love of mine, it really feels like a big big kart. Fun to handle, fun to drive, and very well-behaved.
The AI for some cars is very good now and already better than the AI I have seen in some final-state racing games of the past, I had marvelous races with Lotus 125, E30-DTM, E92 S3, and Laudamobile. Still there is room for tuning it even better. However, the critical candidates like especially the F599 and F40 still are not tamed, the AI struggles with managing the instability these cars have when breaking sharply, and sharply accelerating, that causes still too many unpredictable swings by their tails and sudden lane-changes, and contacts. Here, Kunos still has one of its biggest construction sites. Since I do not like these cars too much anyway, I am not overly concerned, though. Collisions in general have been massively toned down both in intensity and effect, and numbers. The new sky and clouds indeed look nicier than what was there before.
