You'd have woken up dead though. Sandy Caesar had been killed a few nights prior, so the end would have been myself and Undersea, as you were the snack for the night period after lynching Nokia.

The book was Letum's idea
I think I pushed the war-scarred altruistic hero thing a bit too far in the end, my idea was to keep the death count as low as possible until rescue arrives (Of course, Lt. Raptor doesn't know rescue will only arrive after everyone is dead) I was a little annoyed by Undersea's role playing incompetence (No offense) when he tried to get me to cooperate with his inquisition, but otherwise the game was great

A resounding success and top marks to Letum for hosting it

I did have a rescue before death plot ready, that would still see the game run to the bitter end, but I decided that such a dramatic plot change would interfere with the game too much. The Thanatus was rigged with explosives by the Vice Admiral, a member of some cult that wanted to sacrifice the Thanatus and her Crew to the spirits of the abyss. Very welcome Jim and all. It was a lot of hard work, but everyone was very cooperative.

In the spirit of trying to gain constant improvements for future games (if that is actually possible), does anyone have any suggestions?

Yes, thanks Letum for running the game. Hmmm, future improvements... well I for one would like to see 'official game actions' put in my the game master, then we won't have any of this second guessing is that a 'real book' or a 'fake book'. That's been a problem in both games, as people make up so much stuff, that the genuine game thread gets lost among the blizard of player created content. So, if Raptor finds a book, then Letum says Raptor finds a book. The way things were, the game thread got lost as no one knew if things were real or not.

Making up background info as long as it's plausible seems fine, like how the reactor works. Otherwise I don't think anybody made up anything other than what Letum said (And, of course, the numerous guns and knives you barbarians seem to spawn out of nowhere)
Next game I'd like to see an actual plot progressing through the game, maybe with passing NPCs making brief appearances and stuff happening around, of course, that wouldn't work if the location is as isolated as in this one...

How about not having the seer be the bad guy as well? Or perhaps people could refrain form killing themselves without permission:rotfl:

Very nice touch! That sure kept them off-balance.

Hey! when you get knifed from someone you've actually 'slept' with it can be a shock to the system (even more so than marriage) let me tell you My initial question was intended to be more about improvements to rules and gameplay.

The humans should have been on top yes, but they had only found one monster. The other monster had been killed in a friendly fire incident on Day 3. At the point I was the sole werefish, there were ten other humans, so I don't think the I had the advantage at all.

Arrg - that friendly fire sucks - first night the carnage can begin and I get torpedoed by my own side
The only suggestion I would make is that when the initial class assignments are doled out, make sure that even the bad guys have some sort of background info. Mine was just simply that I was part of the rescue team and that I had heard the call of the kraken, I had no information as to my role as part of the rescue team which made it hard to figure out how to role-play anything other than a monster (which if he is to remain free of lynching most definately should not be role-played in front of anyone who is going to live). |
