Inspired by one of my adventures and someone else's. (See current campaing thread.)
Last time I put him on lookout, especially in a harbor. "But I need to learn how to play it for the choir!"

To be honest I so wish I had a screenshot of what happened. I first saw it on the attack map (F6), a "wait.... the torpedoes are supposed to come out the other end.... oh oh oh oh oh OH OH OH FLANK SPEED!!!!!, HARD TO PORT!!!!!!" Then I jumped to external view, and there was this nice beautiful torp, chargin up my wake. First one hit, so I "crash dove" the last 4m to hide from the torp boat and try to repair, when the second one got me. |

Worst patrol ever. Damn young jocks and their torpedo boats... tore the deck gun and forward torpedo chamber up pretty well.

Bernard? Not quite sure exactly where he comes from, but one things for sure - you don't want him in your crew, or even in the same flotilla, nay, ocean!
Anything that goes wrong, it's Bernard's fault - forget to open the tubes before firing? Bernard's fault. Didn't spot that aircraft in the Bay of Biscay? Bernard's fault. Crash-dived in shallow waters? Bernard's fault. Forgot to ask Nav to follow plot out of harbour? Bernard's fault. Think Dowly started it when he started this thread, just picked a random name to blame (or pole-dance!), and it just got bigger and bigger...

Yep, although I doubt Bernard would ever get a command - but he would have been responsible for the depthgauges or dive-planes!
Maybe he wanted a transfer to the Luftwaffe?

Bernard made his debut in the first post of the thread: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...86&postcount=1 And he's been with us - for better or worse, usually worse - ever since! Last edited by frau kaleun; 12-29-10 at 10:30 AM. |

Actually Bernard has had many commands, in that he has turned into a catch-all whipping boy we blame for our own screw-ups.
