My father was in the R.C.A.F.,and growing up I went to many an air show. The R.C.A.F. had a Sabres aerobatics team called The Golden Hawks. They were only around for four or five years, but I saw them three times. Pretty cool.

There is a Corgi version of the aircraft in your picture but the only reason I don't have one in my collection is because I only collect post war British.

Yup, there was an airshow a couple of years back at the old USAF base at Bentwaters, had a nice line-up, Seafire, Spitfire, Sabre, Hunter, Dragon Rapide, Texan, two P-51s and the customary Wing Walkers and Aerial display teams. For a small organisation it was a big show, a B-17 and a Fw-109 replica were supposed to come too but couldn't make it sadly.

Was a great day out, seeing the Sabre was particularly special because they used to operate out of Bentwaters in the 1960s.

Yeah, it's suprising just how many squadrons were equipped with the Sabre.
