TOON actually won away at Palace last night and the Joke scored a goal thanks to a lucky deflection.

We are now at the dizzy heights of tenth place but that won't last long after todays scheduled matches are concluded.

TOON away to Villa on Friday night has been cancelled because several TOON players and staff have tested positive for coronavirus.

This is the first such event for the Premier League since play resumed in June.

I told ya when he was signed that Almiron was a good player. Maybe he doesn't score at quite the rate he should, but the fact he's still a starter for Newcastle shows he's a good player. Vital goal today.

Newcastle are sitting in a good spot. Must be nice not to be looking up at the rest of the table for a change. I gotta say that Bruce has done well. I thought it was a terrible hire at the time, but he's done a good job. Does the Toon Army feel the same?

Same with Uncle Woy. I ripped that hire and he's done a good job at Palace I think.

Bruce is not rated by many of the TOON fans and the number is growing steadily but I lay the blame at Ashley's door.

In all fairness though, Bruce has done pretty well with the limited resources he has.

His biggest failing imho is his lack of tactical awareness.

So you think he is costing them points with his tactics?

Would be interesting where they'd be with this squad and Rafa still at the reins. Would they be further up the table? The squad doesn't ooze class, but they put in a shift.

Resources is right and if they spent on the same level of say Leicester or Wolves or even Villa! they might be in much better shape. They never seem to hit on the strikers they sign. Who is the last 15 league-goal scorer for Newcastle? Gayle in the Championship? Then you probably go all the way back to Shearer. Maybe Demba Ba?

Wilson's done OK, but he's already almost 30 isn't he? This is what Newcastle need. A reliable goal scorer and then they can push for Europe.

Or alternatively, they just need new ownership

That is precisely what is needed. Of course it is well known the Premier League and the big six clubs are happy to maintain the current status quo by refusing to allow the TOON to become Arab owned.

A strange thing happened today....TOON won their first Premier League match in twelve games beating Everton 2-0 at Goodison Park.

Nothing to do with Steve Bruce imho but more likely to be the influence from the recently appointed assistant coach Graham Jones.
