See mookie - I posted not only the "belong" issue - but also the God and Israel issues. I pointed out that IF these were "unforced errors" then they are - combined - a serious set of bungles that give the appearance that the Team D is "as bad" as Team R states. I put out there that it was in fact a question - was it a multitude of errors? The possibility exists.
Still, one must admit that the suspending of rules - the obvious LACK of 2/3 delegate vote and subsequent ramrodding of the platform changes, along with the extremely questionable verbage of the "belong" quote does feed the appearance that Team D has swung away from the "everyday American" (whatever that is) - or even its own principles.

Neither side is perfect, but the reality is that the Democratic Party (not its members per se) expect the double standard - demand the highest moral and ethical values from anyone opposed to them - and then try and destroy them when they don't live up to that standard - all the while living the "Do as I say, don't do as I do" life. Hey-zeus kristi man - the HEAD of the DNC and a legislator in our government just got busted for telling an out and out lie on her political opponents all because she stuck her foot in her mouth - and you want to make it about the other team.... The spokesperson for Obama's campaign has been caught lying over the whole "Romney made a woman die from cancer", you have the Senate Majority Leader making baseless claims on the floor of the Senate against his party's political opponent - and all you want to do is whine about how "team R distorts stuff" - ignoring how Axelrod tried to strongarm Gallop into "fixing" its polls to show Obama winning - and when he failed - Justice decided to renew an old lawsuit against Gallop.

Unemployment for everyday people - higher than 4 years ago. Lobbyists writing the laws and working in the Whitehouse. A debt explosion when Obama said he was going to "pay for" everything he did. All why Obama bundlers get sweet government gigs, government offices are run like frat houses, companies like Solyndra get taxpayer money - and more and more regular folks have to go on food stamps. Yea - keep whining about how Team R "distorts" the meaning of a word.... Think that will really help the country?

I think pointing out the total lack of ethics, dignity, honesty or success of the modern Democrat Party - so that America rejects the path those in power would continue to take us on - will do more for our country than whining over a "distorted" word or ignoring the reality of where our country is.

Don't get me wrong - neither side is perfect and I suspect the rank and file democrats are probably just as fed up with their "leaders" as the rest of America is. That is why I don't get why you want to continue to defend a leadership that has moved away from where I think the majority of your party membership is....

Ah, you are correct, the Democrats are far from perfect, and have quite a few shameful displays of stupidity.

But im afraid, that the Republicans have REALLY outdone themselves this past 4 years. The Republicans have proven themselves, many a time, to be far, far worse. And so its a choice between a very awful choice and a mediocre choice. Obama has turned us in the general direction we want to be heading but still is not a solid or strong choice. Obama has started cleaning up the wreck that the republicans left them, both over the 8 years and at the very end when they brought about a recession that hit right as obama came into office. Romney is simply an awful choice. So ill be voting D this time. Obama has his head in the right place, for the MOST part, but he cant execute very well, is indecisive, will back down from fights that need to be fought, and is not as strong as others might have been. No one seem to want to deal with immigration the way it should be handled, which i find very relevant, so that disappoints me. But overall, its much better than the alternative.

Heres to the pipe dream that maybe, in the next election, well see a party, or at least a CANDIDATE, rise up to really deliver what we need. Another modern FDR would set this country in stone.
