Reloaded successfully! Windows asked for permission to do a programme compatability check on GWX after having warned me that I was low on memory. I was loath to grant Microsoft access to my machine but in the end did so; they checked, adjusted and everything seems fine.

As regards my page file, I have entered 766MB and 4000MB for my minimum and maximum entries respectively: is this allowable? Furthermore, these readings are applicable to my C drive; my games folder containing GWX is on my E drive. Should I not really have entered these settings for the E drive? Any advice as regards these settings would be greatly appreciated.

Default GWX download problem

s.o.s.

I have deleted the original Grey Wolves and have finally got round to downloading GWX. I cannot download any of the bins. I have tried all the links on the 'Hell or High water GWX thread but keep getting the message 'Internet explorer cannot blah blah! On the files upload links I get 'cannot download file -download traffic for your country is empty'.
I can download all the other files (.exe files) but not the bins. What can I do? The unmodded stock SH3 is just not the same after I have been spoiled by the excellent work of the Grey Wolves team! Keep up the good work.

The page file should be on system partition (where windows is) because this partition is fastest. Or: if you have two hard drives - then you should move your page file to that second HDD. These applies also to games: they run faster when installed at the beggining of hard drive (C:/). And the amount of page file depends on how much RAM do you have - i have 1GB and page file of 1792 MB is enough (actually is a little to high, should be 1,5 GB). And set your page file to constant value, ie: min and max entries should be the same.

Right! Got you - kind of.

So it's on C it must be.

So how do you beef up a 125MB slug as mine is?

Furthermore, my game GWX is loaded on partition E.

Just check out www.tweakguides.com; you can read there about how to optimize your system, games, ati/nvidia drivers and so on.

Thanks!

That's the thing the American-Persian fellow's written, isn't it?

I have it and he 's done a great job. Not read through it all yet, but I shall.

Done it! Everything's working fine now.

Bought the D2D version of SH3 (prepatched to 1.4b) a few weeks ago. After reading that someone had troubles installing GWX I hesitated. Yesterday I decided I'd give it a shot, so I rolled back SH3 Commander and installed GWX. Success! It's like a whole different game. Sooo much better - the additions of the Kaiser Wilhelm Canal, the speed charts (thus eliminating the need for my calculator), and the stopwatch repeater are just what I needed.

Default XP 64bit and SH3+GWX; Config. Questions???????

Hello all. I'm running SH3+GWX on XP professional 64 Edition version 2003 with service pack 2.

1) Which config. file effects GWX, and where is it located?
2) What is the fastest, and most effective way to change my GWX Resolution (to a higher resolution)? It seems like there's a few ways to do it, but which is the least time consuming?

Special Note: I was able to change my resolution in vanilla SH3 using only the config file in my SH folder in MY Documents, despite what Danlisa says. I have screenshots to prove it. Unfortunately, this hasn't changed my resolution in GWX in any way. I wonder why? How can I change the res. in GWX?

Reinstalling GWX would be the most simplest way to get that mod back, check Jimbunas filefront.
