This was just a new Pace Maker and Heart attack no major surgery.

"Just."? I'd consider our new microwave and my stubbing a toe "Just".

Default The new sounds

are wonderfull! I have just been in the pacific and the airplanes don't sound like vacum-cleaners anymore! :rotfl: Good work LukeFF and Leo.

Only critism is the engine not turning off when standing still.

Leo, all this, everything, SH4 the lot, can wait until you are well again! I am forever greatful of what you have done, and can do now but you're health always comes first man...so take it as easy as you want. I'd rather have you on here than ROW, any day.

IIRC, that's a feature, not a bug

I haven't found any definitive research on US submarine engine operation procedures, so I can't confirm this first hand, but I think I remember reading that this was done this way because it was more likely that at "full stop" they would still leave the engines on at idle rather than shut them off completely and have the extra delay of having to get them restarted if you needed to start moving again quickly. Therefore, you still hear the engine sound even at full stop, though presumably it should be somewhat softer/quieter than when underway.

PS to Leo - ditto what everyone else has said - it's good to see you back here, and if and to the extent that this work feels good and therapeutic to you, then by all means go for it, but there's no need to push it - give yourself time to heal up and get some strength back. We can wait - there's plenty of new stuff to test out there to keep us busy for some time

question about file Sh.sdl in sound mod

Dave, First off, glad to see your back safely.

I tend to use the sound mod a-la' carte' since i still like some of the stock sounds.

i typically just 'swap in', the sounds id like to replace. But what about the "Sh.sdl" file?

what purpose does that file serve? are there certain sounds we cant cherry pick? is there a point that id have to start using that file?

Thanks for everything, and best wishes for your full recovery.

Look at this thread here regarding the modded SH.sdl --> http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=121540

You don't need it. You can still cherry pick your sounds.

Firstly let me say i wish you a speedy recovery and all the best for the future, i'll be needing an Aeortic valve transplant in the future so i know just how much of a pain these things can be.

I'm new too all these mods can someone tell me if the 1.4 compatible sections of this mod are also compatible with TM 1.7.2 mod and is there a prefered install order ?

Thanks again for all the great work you guys do, much appreciated.

How about a simple mod that will change the army truck that drives around on the docks into a red Ferrari ?

If those two deities are to be involved, it'll look more like togas, olive branches in their heads, and amphoras with wine all over the place

And cheers once again to Leo and crew for continuing to improve an already awesome mod! But, like everyone else said, your health comes first, Leo. Take good care of yourself, skipper.

So I can not tell you what is compatable with what. All I know is for the new work if the file was changed by the patch I am using the new patch file as a base for the compatability re work.

BTW the Zone's file did change in the patch I see it has a new date on it so not too sure how the special effect's part of the mod will work in conjunction with the 1.4 patch work.

I am sorry for the mess and confusion but don't feel bad as I am going nuts as well. When I copied and pasted the mod's folder before re doing my game with the patches to make sure it was clean some how JSGME and for some reason it deleted half the stuff in the files so they are blank and I am having to rebuild every thing for my own game as well that I liked and wanted.

Luckly I had a lot of back up's of old mod's just a matter of fixing all the files again.

BTW right now the SDL file isn;t that important but it will be in the future as I am trying to make the game use more sounds than in the past. But the sound effects mod is based on the sound distance boost that WilHelmtell did.

Any new developments with ROW Leo?
