Ouch, that pic of SH4 really does bring it justice.I think what you might need to do is download a good environmental mod for Sh4 Hans and crew and judge by that...maybe throw a few tweaks in also.
Just found this for Sh4 and my o my it looks amazing! http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/t...5/m/8361040347 SORRY EDITED AGAIN... Just installed that mod and while it looks amazing in pics its bad in execution for some reason. No disrespect to the maker as its the engine itself. there can be simply no other opinion than: the water of sh4 is milestones from sh3 water away...in front. and sh5 water follows the track.
so, as to my opinion we should start to mod sh4 to the state of sh3. we have much more possibilites in sh4. guess the extended limitations...dudes.

As this is a SH3 Mod thread?
It should be left alone as such. There was a thread started in the SH4 area to Mod or add to Op Munson. That is where this should be continued. Or a new thread started if need be in the SH4 Mods area. |

Thanks for your reply Hans .
In my opinion a realistic wind is the worthiest option to implementation. The Sonar_PL wrote on Polish Seamen Forum that he only turned on the unused function in SH3 code. I think that if you ask him for help, he will help you gladly. For the weekend I read entire topic and I am impressed. I am happy that there are still people who have an enthusiasm for improving SH3. SH5 has nice graphics and some nice goodies such as 3D damages or U-boot interior, but it don't have this "magic" which is in old SH3. That is why I prefer SH3 than SH5. Your work is fantastic! I will read this topic every day and I will wait for news. Today, I will drink for your health. Regards |

He then has implemented 'fake' wind....a wind whose direction and speed is the same no matter what. You cannot have real wind in SH3, it doesn't work. You have to move to SH4 or better yet SH5 to get real wind on particles.

hello hans and hahd team,
the first time i saw those vids of type 2 i couldn't believe my eyes, the quality is superb and you haven't overlooked any tiny detail!!! But then i saw some odd lightning of that awesome crane and few other buildings, as i understand it has something to do with smooth/sharp surfaces of the model it self? just my few thoughts (before privateer starts to flame me again...) P.S. can't wait for new stuff unveiling |

I would agree, but I gave my reasons.

Can someone fill me in on the wind change.I thought it already changes since it shows different directions when you ask for a weather report.Does it only affect the smoke rising from boats or does it do what real wind does and affect range and speed?

No, the in-game wind might blow from different directions, or it might not (use external view when it's raining), but the smoke from the ships always blows directly behind...as do the flags.
