After finally getting SHIII to work on Vista I decided to give this thread a try. I was given command of U-8 a tiny type IIA submarine in August 1939. At 0100 September 1, 1939 I was given the order to head to AN21 to do a 24 hour patrol. Took the entire crew of 27 aboard and headed out of Kiel heading north. Currently U-8 just reached the North sea. Winds calm with no waves. Here is a shot taken from the escort as it was returning into port of U-8.

TarJak, LVS and Jim - nice stuff. What software are you using. I use PSP and sometimes PhotoFilter. I like the old photo 'trim' cuts. I have boxes of photos from the 40-50s cut in that style. Where do I find that ap? Thanks in advance.

Yep - been using Picassa and Snag-it also for several years - I do old newspaper, sepias etc but cannot find an 'on old photographic paper thingy'. Hmmm. Holy Moly I have a transvestite for a avatar! haha - now I have to post a bunch to get rid of it!! Jeezum Marie

PSPX2 has them spanning from 1839 to the present day.

Here are a few examples that took 2 or 3 minutes to create in total. You can of course add scratches and turned up edges and a multitude of different photo frames etc if you want:
