It is not awarded by the royal family such as an MBE although one new MBE has the honor.

F1 drivers Sterling Moss, Bruce McClaren, Jackie Stewart, Martin Brundle, Nigel Mansell, Damon Hill, and Lewis Hamilton have received this trophy from the RAC named in honor of Sir Henry Segrave by his wife Lady Doris. Likely some others I missed here who have F1 races under their belt but the point is made.
