My basement apartment was ankle deep in water. It was like being at the bottom of the Gibralter Strait. Me and my roomies bailing water and scrambling to get our valuable up and away from the floor. I even slept curled up on my bed with my computer and other stuff piled around me. I can't complain though, the rent is super cheap for Brooklyn. Gonna be a few days getting the smell out though.

Been there brother. We had about 1 inch of water in our basement back in 2003. Within 12 hours the stench from the carpet glue, etc was nasty. My wife and I ripped it up pronto. The rug was thrown outside and basement allowed to dry.

That's not Task Force, it's an imposter cleverly planted to deceive us about him being alive. Lies, all lies!

So I'm on Vacation in Atlantic Beach, NC. Irene came ashore just a few miles from here. The fishing pier is half gone, and there's a church down the street with it's steeple at a 45' angle. And a lot of signs for stores are missing. Other than than, not much damage here. Nothing like what I saw in Biloxi when I was down there helping rebuild post-katrina. I'll get some pictures up eventually for you guys to see.

Sat in the hot tub tonight with a couple on their honeymoon. They had gotten married during the peak of the storm, in her sisters house, with no power. They had a huge church and reception planned, but few people could travel, and all the important guests were already at the house, so they went through with it. Pretty cool IMO. Kudos to them.
