I did not know this was A Thing until I saw a fluff piece on the news this weekend, but apparently Gangnam Style has hit Skyrim as well...

Anyway it made me

I been playing other games,

So after most of you played through it, is Dawnguard worth the 20$ or is it a bunch of crap I can make with the construction set?

I am on a budget, and Assassins Creed 3 will be out soon. I am a cheapskate, pardon self.

The general consensus is that it's not worth the $20.

If I were you, I'd get X-com or Dishonored on the 9th of October. They cost $30 dollars more, but are better buys. If you're a fan of the original X-com games, it only costs $20 to get the Alpha version of Xenonauts, which is pretty good.

I second everything Spike just said. As for Dawnguard it isn't bad... but its not like some grand new thing that will make you go OMG Skyrim I missed you!!!!!!!!!!

Just some generic content, a Vampire Lord ability that gets old in about 20 minutes... the new locations are pretty cool looking, and Dragon Bone weapons are a great addition as well as crafting your own arrows Daedric arrows we very hard to find before. Still meh I dunno that I would put it over my desire for Xcom or Dishonored.

I disagree with the previous two posts. If you're a TES or Bethesda junkie like I am, you will want Dawnguard. As for general consensus, there is nothing general or consent-oriented about the aforementioned posts. This is all just three people's opinions.

I do not have Dawnguard, so I may be free from any suspicion to just have a personal opinion on it's quality. I just say that when considering all feedback I read about it on some opportunities, both postings in forums as well as gamesite reviews, the opinion that it is no must-have and is overpriced, judged by the content, appears to be dominant indeed. It gets often compared to KOTN for Oblivion, which also was seen as no must-have at all, and offering too little for too much money. Dawnguard, they all seem to agree, does not what Shivering Isles did for Oblivion.

A point risen time and again in discussions is that the player, at least when playing for the Dawnguard, is stuck with a very repetitive and simple plot sending him back and forth between two distant corner of the map, and when one sub-quest is done, the same trip begins again. It seems that this simplistic plot turned more people sceptical than any other detail.

I've yet to take the Dawnguard plunge as I'm waiting for it to go on sale. I'm going through Morrowind again. House Telvanni 4 lyfe, yo.

That may be, I do not know the addon, and thus do not know the location's name. The simple fact is that that screenshot is not by me. I just worked on it. Two screenshots in that series I posted were reworked by me, but the original ones not ingame footage by me.

The other foreign one is the one at night, the balcony of Whiterun Castle. The kids of friends of mine sent them to me with pride. I sent the reworks back to them as a thank. And found it interesting and thus the work on the whole thing started.

All other original pics are shot by me indeed.

So if you want to continue your little private crusade against me, attack me over the right reasons. Attack me for not having said that those two screenshots originally were not by me.

It jumped my attention.

And my attention stumbled again - I had not even posted the other of the two pics mentioned, so here it is. Just for you, Tak. With love.

Original shot not by me. Rework done by me.

And stumble again, I have messed it up now, since I have all Skyrim screenshots - over 200 - in one folder. The balcony is by me, and the other of the two pics send by the kids indeed was posted in the earlier sequence, it should be the shadowy door with the two fires. I cannot give it any location in Skyrim, so it could be from the addon as well.

I bill my anger for it. I do not like to be called names in false accusations.

I didn't call you names, Skybird. And I am sorry, I missed the 'screenshot not made by Skybird' logo on your pic. Seriously, if you want to stomp around over the fact that I disagreed with you in another thread, that's fine; maybe you can do that in PM. Thanks.

Moving on....

Mookie, funny you should mention Morrowind, as I just reloaded it today. With mods, it's really held up well over the years.
