So, I noticed that you posted a recent, fairly worded request for assistance in the main mod forum (entitled "Medal Fix for RSRDC?"), and Cap'n Scurvy promptly provided you a link to a U.S. medal fix mod--one which has been in existence for some time. I am not surprised. Nor am I surprised that you failed to mention that the "fix" had been disclosed to you in the above post, where you gloss over the repercussions of your conduct. Oh yea. To make sure we understand one another--I am not your "mate." Last edited by I'm goin' down; 09-03-10 at 10:58 AM. |

Let's just be happy. Think about it, in this forum 99% of the people are mature, have a brain, read instructions, ect... Only on rare moments do we have such silly behavior here. Compare that to other forums where childish rage is the norm, we are rather lucky to only have a few moments....

I still haven't figured out what Navelintel's complaint was all about. When I first got SH4, there was a lot of complaining about UBI's decision to replace official medals with renamed/redesigned medals. That problem was fixed long ago, and we now have a Purple Heart medal instead of a Wounded medal, etc. I don't know who did the fixing, but thanks.
Medals seem to be awarded for patrol tonnage - the more tonnage, the higher the medal. By the end of a campaign, I have numerous Bronze Stars, some Silver Stars, and even a CMH in my box, along with a few 'other' medals (like a Purple Heart). I honestly can't see this as being a problem. Multiple awards of Bronze or Silver Star medals should be given a 'Clasp' or 'Star' to attach to the medal, but the hard programming might not allow for this. It would be nice if the entire crew were awarded campaign ribbons after a couple of patrols, and a Presidential Unit Citation would be nice for outstanding work. The entire crew should be awarded a PUC, and not left up to me to divy up a few. So, like the old ladies used to say, "Where's the beef?"

The TMO forum might be a better place to ask this question, but since I'm here . . .
It would be in the interest of Real Life if 1/4th to 1/3rd of the crew were rotated to other boats after a patrol (and after medal awards and promotions were made). I read somewhere that this was the usual practice during the war. I have fought a complete campaign with some of my crew never making rate above seaman, although they do seem to get 'experiance points'. Earlier campaigns had most of my crew as chiefs and first class petty officers. Both scenerios are incorrect. I know I can do this myself, but it takes alot of time to choose and replace this many crew members, and I just hate to rotate my most experienced men. Any suggestions on how to 'randomly' rotate the crew?

![]() PS / EDIT: Oh yeah, forgot. Any pointers on where the convoys are in RSRDC later on in the war? In the beginning there's all these humongous task forces and whatnot, but I only seem to bump into lone merchants after say mid-1942 or so... Last edited by msalama; 09-04-10 at 04:06 AM. |

With RSRD you must think historical. The large invasion forces and TF's are seldom assigned to your patrol area, you usually have to go to them. Here is a good link. Study the times and routes of the TF and invasion forces, you can't miss them. http://www.historyanimated.com/pacificwaranimated/ Check out this thread just started, I posted some info on shipping lanes, maps, SS's of locations, ect.. http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=174470 I don't know that people really appreciate the work Lurker put into RSRD. The more I play it, the more it amazes me. In most battles and campaigns he has designed things to perfection including start off points, routes, time spent on point, ect....amazing work. I can't imagine the hours he spent on it. |

Are the battles at Savo Island modded into the RSRDC? I was there on August 7-9 and did not see any Japanese or American forces. I checked the online reports of the battle and parked my boat right where the Jap task force circled the island. It was a long and lonely couple of days.
Lurker? Anyone? |

Lurker, any chance of updating RSRD to TMO 2.0?
Current RSRD overwrites things like Sofu Gan(label is on map but the rock itself is not there with RSRD, was in TMO alone) may be others but that is what ive noticed thus far. Also, possible to make it optional to stay at Pearl Harbor or Fremantle instead of being reassigned, choice is the key.I would make the changes but not sure how and do not have the time anyway. Thanks in advance. Edit:Perhaps turn the skill level on escorts up to vet, at least for the TMO version. The TMO escorts seem to have lost their edge in RSRD.I love RSRD but need the vicious TMO escorts back. Example: I attacked a three ship one escort convoy in January 1944.Seas were flat calm, no waves.I sank two large ships, then made a ton of noise making a quick turn to bring stern tubes on last one, the escort was heading for me, I fired and them went deep, the escort never pinged and never even dropped one depth charge. In TMO only the escort wouldve been all over me.A simple solution would to not use RSRD but I enjoy it too much. I understand for RFB etc but half the fun of TMO is the tough escorts, RSRD seems to affect the AI somehow.Just letting you know. Last edited by Bubblehead1980; 09-19-10 at 06:00 PM. |

I would not hold my breath. I'll take a look later at Lot's Wife (that's what the sub guys called it). I actually like the TMO map with he patrol ares, might have to make that for RSRDC, too.
Not hard to do, just need to see what needs moving. |

I've been using TMO 2,0 Beta and want to try RSRDC. I installed RSRDC TMO V502 and RSRDC Vxx Patch1. I installed TMO and first and then the two RSRDC mods. Game starts, I start a career out of Midway and get about 20nm away from base and game CTDs.
Does this version of RSRDC work with TMO 2 beta? If it should, can someone offer some advice as to how to fix the CTDs? Thanks |

Sofu Gan was included in TMO 2.0, but RSRD overwrites it.While the map label shows up in RSRD, the rock itself is not there due to RSRD but is when TMO is alone. |
