Everything is fine, thanks. I'm trying to get in better shape for the summer, among other things, which leaves less time for modding. But I've lost several pounds, which is good! So more time for modding, instead of exercise.
Here are the U-23, U-27, and U-31 type U-Boats that are being worked on. The three classes were nearly identical sisters, but you may notice different armament and conning tower shapes. Also, the U-27 class has two "humps" on the hull to raise the gun platforms - U-31 class only has one. On the inside, U-23 and U-31 classes had Germaniawerft (GW) engines, which broke down often. U-27 class had the better MAN engines. These submarines only carried 6 torpedoes (although later improved to 9-10 torpedoes). So you will need to make every shot count, and be sure to use the gun when you can.

Things getting into high gear.... XD
Never assume that because the thread's quiet that I am idle. Got some complaints about skins with too much relief...so I have a gray skin with the rivets less visible. The movie "Britannic" has a good shot of a typical WWI submarine; I used it as reference in part. Bad movie but lovely U-Boat model of the U-31 series. And it has Jackie Bisset, who is quite lovely too! lol...

Gray skin with rivets less visible; based on SH5 textures. Again, some people said they did not like gritty textures, so please let me know what opinions are...
Some parts are low-poly placeholders, like the torpedo caps - I will be designing better ones soon.

I like both versions-it does not matter to me. If you want a choice, I would go with the less gritty version.
Very outstanding work!

Definitely a big step forward at least for my taste
The 2nd option looks cleaner to me. Still some parts of the skin (Deck) seem too low res, I supppose they are placeholders also.

Wow I really like all two paintings but can you make a white and black version?
and an other thing, I know that the u-boat had one anchor, but you model have made two anchors

I guess it could have been done, since there were Arctic convoys to Russia in WWI too (until Russia was beaten). White would definitely help a submarine blend in with the ice pack, but if you have pictures of any white U-Boats that would be great! Just so everything looks historical, instead of a guess by me. I will be trying a Mediterranean skin with "Leopard" spots that is historical (was applied to U-21 in 1915 or 1916, around the time she sank two British battleships). It's a very beautiful skin...makes the U-Boat look like a wild animal. lol. I will try to post a photo of it later. Also, late war skin options in the menu will have a paint scheme without the red waterline paint.....I think the Navy got rid of red waterlines by about 1917 or 1918, because it was too visible. Most models of late WWI subs have dark green or blue waterlines. More interesting options for the player! Thanks for the anchor comment - I will get rid of one anchor indentation in the hull. And yes, the low resolution deck will be swapped out for a better texture, probably from SH4 or SH5 skins.

Thanks for the research Oliver!
I know that one of the Arctic U-Boats was U-28, which was a very successful boat - U-28 sank after sailing too close to the ammunition ship "Olive Branch" - gunfire from the deck gun blew up "Olive Branch", but sank the U-Boat too.... http://www.uboat.net/wwi/boats/index.html?boat=28 It was a controversial incident, because the "Olive Branch" sailors refused to let the Germans into the lifeboats, and all of U-28's men froze to death.
