Hi,

i play this game since a half year now, and i have to say with
all the work and improvements over the time which result in
usefully mods, Silent Hunter 5 becomes a revalued game!

The company should learn from her own community,
resp. integrate these more.. not just since SH5
(...SH3 and SH4)

Thanks for all

Default annoying shadow escort

had interesting experience in Norway scenario. picked up annoying shadow escort at mouth of Narvikfjord. normally I wait till night then surface and run at top speed to elude. it DIDNT work this time nor could I stealth him for a shot he as stayed out of reach at all times. I finally ran at flank speed to Heligoland -all the way down the Norwegan coast with him shadowing all the way. I knew the destroyers on station around my refit would drive him off for me. I dove approx. 25 miles of Heligoland and crept in to refit and the enemy vessal had gone. thank you surface fleet.

I was never realy interested in German U-Boats at first because I didnt even knew about them but when I began to research them and saw what they achieved that i realy got interested in German U-Boats and after I watched Das Boot by Wolfgang Petersen I got realy hooke with German U-Boats, but the wierd thing is I started play Silent Hunter with Silent Hunter 5 and now It got me realy hooked even tho Im a total noob haha.

So Yeah this was me

We just moved to a navy town in Canada, where my wife (although air force) has been assigned to a frigate.

I was in the store the other day and saw this in the discount bin...reminding me of my SH3 days. I figured if she could have a career in the water, I could have a virtual water career.

Default Hello everyone

Just getting started with the game and having so much fun already. My name is Mike and I am a retired US Navy Chief. Spent most of my time on Aircraft Carrier (I know I am a target Sailor). I have heard this game community is a good one and I am looking forward to being a part of it.

welcome. SHV is actually better and infinitely more detailed with or without mods. I still play SHII and any old windows 98 games too. One thing I miss is the setting of the FAT eel in SHV is nonexistent unlike SHII where u could set distance and left or right turn.

Sailer Vincentz reporting for duty.

37 and living in Denmark.

Initially VERY disappointed with S5. It just felt so half finished and buggy, but putting a few mods and it improves it by 500% already
