I recently reinstalled and started playing Age of Empires III again. Here are a few shots from my latest skirmish. This time I was France. My home city is only level 3 right now since I started anew. The match was almost over when I remembered I could take screenshots so here are a few when I was decimating the Ottomans. I was playing on my favorite map - the Caribbean.

Yes, the new version. Great fun, and tough too. Some unforseen events have me entrenched on the border of Scotland at the moment. That border is a bit longer to the south than it was originally too.

I play Stainless Steal too. Currently a campaign as the Templars. The entire Middle East is ours, most of North Africa, crushed the Byzantine Empire in a matter of years, formed an alliance with the Seljuks and the Kwarezmian (after almost annihilated both of them).

Now I have finally got the Scots under control, I think. William Wallace and a huge army came looking for freshly overrun York, but fortunately my spies saw this, so I had a similarly sized force waiting in the forrest, dispatched from Nottingham and merged with my in-the-field-army.
When Braveheart attacked the city my main force charged from the rear. The battle was chaotic and bloody, heavy losses on both sides. The deciding factor was a lucky mangonel shot that killed Wallace. After this I have reclaimed Canaeveron (?), fixed the heavily damaged Nottingham and added York to the English Empire. This cost me all my gold, so hard times are ahead. I really hope the Scots dont have a huge army hidden up north, because right now licking wounds and keeping the Irish out of Dublin, and keeping the Norwegians away from ... eh ... Norway is more than enough. I love this mod! (Stainless Steel 6.1) Random pics from earlier battles:

I had quite a battle tonight. The Teutonic ORder emerged from northern Europe and headed south, until they reached Constantinople. I guess they thought that the great city would make a good Capital city for them, and it would. They seiged the city with two full armies, against a full garrison inside the city walls. I sent an army to help the defence. Two years into the siege they attacked, and I quite litterally crushed them, both armies got annihilated, including the grand master of the order and his successor, so I guess that's the end of the Teutonic Knights. No picutres I'm afraid

What's new in 6.1? I still use 6.0, but just because I'm trying to wrap up a campaign as the Spanish. I've taken Iberia and chased the Moors to Libya. I was excommunicated as the Pope told me to leave Portugal alone. They had but one settlement left and I had it under seige, so I decided to end it. Oh, well the Pope died and was replaced by one of my cardinals

I dont know, Lobsterboy, the last time I played SS it was 5.0.
This huge battle decided (I think) the battle for Britain. The largest armies on the isles clashed north of York. My main force was a bit heavy on the artillery, and the backup force was delayed. This forced me to circle the wagons and hope I could blow them away. The insane amount of heavy Scottish infantery made me groan, though. The hill was eventually overrun:
