It's going through all of their stuff that's hard to take ... what to keep and what to give away or sell. The memories never go away either ... the photos the images can bring smiles or sadness.

I visited a new gallery owner yesterday to drop off some paintings and I commented that he was rather 'tucked away' from the town high street. He pointed to the virtually paralysed queue of traffic outside and pointed out with great pride and much amusement that this was perhaps his greatest asset, with dozens upon dozens of people of all kinds sat out there all day long with nothing to do but look into his shop window. Once I saw the sheer astonishing potential of the situation I decided to get as much work in there as possible.

Went sailing yesterday in 77 degree weather! no jacket required! Brisk winds and whitecaps made for some zesty maneuvering in the stit. Our new depth gauge is not working well possibly the hull traducer is malfunctioning: a real bad thing in depths that run from 90' to 3' with swiftness in the narrows off Mare Island. The captain of a passing tanker radio'd "happy sailing' to us on channel 16. We were the only small craft out there having fun! I then got summoned to San Francisco workwise at 8 pm 'till all hours of the morning. Today the tile guys showed to install the new 6' square single-piece bathtub wall marble: all precut from templates for the vanity... only to discover a 5" crack in the stone from in-transit vibration....these things (as with the re-stucco job to the quake-damaged rear exterior) never go as planned; so back to the tile shop for a new recut and another delay...
