Yes.
![]() But I have a couple pajama tops with little buttons just for decoration down the front and Carrot in particular thinks they are something he should have. One of my friends at work was surprised at some of the stories I've told about them chewing on stuff, she has two fairly young dogs and they can't let them loose in the house unsupervised otherwise they chew up EVERYTHING. She thought only dogs did that, I said kittens apparently do the same, it's just that their mouths are so much smaller so the damage doesn't pile up so much. They probably won't chew a hole in your drywall that you can crawl through or destroy anything big, but these two have chewed about two feet off the wire FM antenna on my clock radio (fortunately it still gets my station without it, I only use it to wake up in the morning) and would happily chew a button off a shirt or gnaw a shoelace in half given the chance. |

Well...
A dog thinks: Hey, those people I live with feed me, love me, provide me with a nice warm, dry house, pet me, and take good care of me.....They must be gods! A cat thinks: Hey, these people I live with feed me, love me, provide me with a nice warm, dry house, pet me, and take good care of me...I must be a god. Also... What is a dog? Dogs lie around all day, sprawled on the most comfortable piece of furniture in the house. They can hear a package of food opening half a block away but don't hear you when you're in the same room. They can look dumb and lovable all at the same time. They growl when they are not happy. When you want to play, they want to play. When you want to be alone, they want to play. They are great at begging. They will love you forever if you rub their tummies. They never have enough toys and they leave them everywhere. They do disgusting things with their mouths and then try to give you a kiss. Conclusion: They're tiny little men in fur coats. What is a cat? Cats do what they want. They rarely listen to you. They're totally unpredictable. They whine when they are not happy. When you want to play, they want to be alone. When you want to be alone, they want to play. They expect you to cater to their every whim. They're moody. They leave hair everywhere. They drive you nuts and cost you money. Conclusion: They're tiny little women in fur coats

Sounds like any one of mine.
I am outnumbered. Missy, Scamp, Honey, Smokie, Madeline, Cali, Aran and Belle are all females. Junior, myself, John Boy, Biscuit and Tyson are all the boys. ![]()

Christmas came early for Sam'n'Carrot today:
![]() Took no time at all to get it set up, especially considering all the "help" I had. At first Carrot was more interested in the cup I was using to fill it up. ![]() ![]() But once I got it set up and running, they both seemed quite pleased! ![]() ![]() I had to rearrange it a bit to get the excess cord up off the floor while keeping both sides as accessible as possible for them, but once that was done I just left them to it. After 15 minutes they were both still in there getting drinks or just sitting and looking at it. They finally came out but Carrot kept going back in and when I checked on him later he was just curled up next to it purring like crazy. When I sat down he came over and headbutted me all over the place and purred and chirped and finally got up in my lap and purred some more. I think he's really happy with it! I AM A GOOD MOMMY. ![]() The best part is, when I went up to take a shower he still followed me up and got up on the sink to be petted and then on the edge of the tub to watch the water from the shower, but no frantic crying for me to turn the water on in the sink or the tub. He'd gotten so insistent about it the last few days and seemed so desperate to drink once I did turn the water on for him that I was concerned he'd stopped drinking from his bowl entirely, which would be a very bad thing in terms of his longterm health... no way he could ever get enough to drink by just waiting for me to run some water for a couple minutes once or twice a day. We'll see if it lasts, he did seem to like drinking from the fountain part of the new bowl so I'm hoping that will encourage healthy water intake without the two of them commandeering the sink every time I get near it. Now I need to work on getting the cat door installed. Still debating on whether to buy a handsaw of some type for the job, or check into renting a jigsaw from Lowe's, or just buying one. I haven't priced anything yet so I've got no clue about whether or not that's a good idea, or if it would be worth it to have one for future projects. ![]() |

Cool! Their own personal sink. What could be better than that? I was going to make a wisecrack about them still wanting to use yours, but it sounds like they're better than that.

Could this be utilised for milk also or would keeping it fresh be an issue?

But Carrot doesn't know what day it is. Sam doesn't know who Jesus was or what prayin' is.

I think that keeping it cool would be an issue. Those fountains were made to pump water, not anything heavier.

My boss was asking yesterday how they'd know it's Christmas if I don't put a tree up or save any of their presents for the actual holiday. ![]() Anyway, they will get new toys ON Christmas, even if I didn't have some for them my sister will have stuff that she's actually wrapped and tagged with their names. Carrot still jumped up on the sink this morning when I got up and went in the bathroom, but no desperate crying for a drink. He did lick at the faucet a little but I just picked him up and took him downstairs and showed him the new bowl and he started drinking from that. Then he came upstairs and got back in the sink. ![]() Part of it is I think he just likes being in the sink, part of it is that he knows there's a better chance of being petted if he's up where I can reach him instead of down on the floor. And part of it is that he just wants to see what I'm doing. At least now I don't have to feel bad about putting him down and not running water for him. |
