Let's assume I show you three white hats and two red hats.
There are three chairs in a row, one behind the other. Two of your friends have a seat behind you while you sit on the first chair.
I put everyone of you a hat on, but you can't see its colour. No one is allowed to turn his head or touch his hat. Keep your face forward, don't move.

Everyone sees the hat/s of the one/s in front of him, but not his own or the hats behind him. You see nothing.
I ask both of your friends what the colours of their hats are, but they could not tell me.
So I ask you - on the first chair:
Please explain to me, how you know the colour of your hat? No one tells you.

Not enough info. The two friends must say what they see in order for me to make a deduction.

"Three hats in a row" is an example for a conclusion out of given facts and logic thinking - without direct observation.

a: Number 3 will know the colour of his own hat, if he sees the two red hats in front of him.

b: Number 2 knows he doesn't wear a red hat, if he sees a red hat in front of him. (Otherwise number 3 would have known his own colour)

c: Number 1 is sure to wear a white hat, because none of his friends was able to determine their own colour (following a and b).

But only if they are red. If they are white or red and white then it's a guess.
