We have a winner!



My grandmother had one of these on her farm. My uncle ran the farm. This would have been in the late 50's and early 60's. They still milked cows by hand and separated the raw milk into cream and skim milk. The cream was sold to the local dairy to make butter.

My aunt Mary turned this thing. She was blind and this was a way that she could contribute to farm chores. When that upper container was full of milk it took a lot of muscle to get it spinning fast enough. I was always nice to her.

I couldn't find a picture of the one my grandmother had. It was a deep red color. But the same idea.
