Okay, this one might be a little tricky:

A boat sank and only two men survived. They manage to swim to a deserted island, but there is no food there. After a while, one man cannot stand the hunger any longer, so he kills and eats the other man.

Eventually, the killer is rescued and he tells his rescuers that he is the lone survivor of the wreck. To this day, no one has found out about what he did.

Who is the killer?

The answer is more specific than "the man who was rescued" or similar. It's a specific person. (And no, it's not the cook.) Here are a couple of clues:

The killer is someone known to all of you.
The most important clue is that no one has found out to this day.

All of the information you need to deduce the identity of the killer is provided. However, as riddles go, this one may be a little...unusual.
