Wohoo, great new site. I've just watched the video and I almost cried in joy. How did you make the torpedo switches work again? Anyway, I've once tried to battle with the SH4 interface and if you're interested I can share some small tips I've found. I'm not good at all with the ini file but I've done photoshop versions of the Periscope view I'd like to see. PM me if you're interested

God I'm such a fool, I saved them in my Data folder instead of the MODS folder. And I've reinstalled the game twice since then. It wasn't that much really, simple layers with the dials. I had played with the proportions for hours to allow for perfect visibility on all aspect ratios and resolutions. Even the Menu groups shared the settings so it was just one menu.ini file for all the resolutions. I just never had the patience to manually increment the bloody items. And I even had lists with all the important ID's for hiding/switching
