I have been trying to find reliable info on the v-tailed 262 and nothing has come up not even a Wikipedia entry.

The HG II was a design with 35 degrees swept-back wings and a V-shaped tail, for more speed, but it was never built

Read this section on the main ME 262 article:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Messers...speed_research HG stood for Hochgeschwindigkeit, or high speed. There is also these: http://www.axishistory.com/index.php?id=1156 http://www.airtoaircombat.com/backgr...?id=245&bg=935 http://messerschmittme-262.blogspot....gainst-me.html Just search inside the pages for HG and you'll see the relevant section that mentions there were several projected variants but none ever built. From my reading there were HG I thru IV projected, but only the one airframe for the HG I ever got close and even that never flew. |

I saw that but couldn't find anything more in detail.
Also combatsim had written that one HGII was built but was clipped by a plane making an emergancy landing and destroyed. |

Also have you noticed how the wikipedia entry and the blog entry with the section about counter jet tactics is the same word for word. So who has copied who?

They say considered there. To me, that means it was never built? Looks dangerous in that it might be impossible to get out of a spin.

If you were keen you could always check out one of these books. Might be some more info in one or two of them:
http://www.warbirdalley.com/me262-b.htm This one appears to be one of the most authoritative on the subject: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/1580070590 |

I might get that and a decent bok about the Arado jet bomber. That one is great to fly in IL-2.Oh and one other thing, playing the jets I have engine overheat turned off to level the playing field against the AI.
With the Arado 234 the engines still blow up. |

Great plane though. I'm working on a high altitude recon skin. I'm trying to get the right shade of blue and will have greyed out Iron Crosses and squadron insignia. I'd love to have an online coop jet campaign.

The Arado is one of my favourite flyable bombers in IL-2, you just have to be very..........careful with the throttle

Bombing in it is easy due to the crude CCIP site....
