Either way, I'm not really talking about using my tracers to guide cannon rounds. It's more of not even opening up with cannons until you're sure of a hit and part of that decision was looking at how/when the MG rounds were landing. Like working a boxer over with jabs waiting for the right opportunity to throw your right cross or uppercut. With the Bf 109E's weapon set up that 1-2 punch combination always took more attention and caution than later variants (The F4 was always my favorite. I've actually never flown any 109 variant later than it). But, that system of checking MG hits before touching my cannon trigger has always afforded me effective and economic use of the low ammo load out. I'm looking to pick up 1946 tonight and would love to play with you guys tomorrow depending on what time you get together.

I would vote for the BF109-G ''Gustav'' 2,
it has perfomance and firepower nicely balanced and has the capabilities to carry some gunpods to shoot down bombers with. HunterICX

I like the Gustav, but I'll settle for the Friedrich if we could just get it sooner...

For overall performance, I'd take the G2. Simply for the looks, E4.

Well I must say the Emil surprised me in its performance a lot when flying it in this Grand Campaign.
it has good performance, the cannons need to be used properly to be effective and it handles very nice for a 109. HunterICX

I'm beginning to think that if I retire the average effectiveness of the squadron will go up! Every time I get even near to getting a kill I wind up dead or in the latest debacle, captured.

Le Frenchies will make you eat le smelly cheeze now
I managed to kill a Blenheim on the first sortie but got my engine fried (Managed to save the plane though) On the second sortie I was miles away from everyone else when I got jumped by at least 3 Hurris, I managed to mortally wound one (didn't get credit though) but 2 got on my tail and demolished my Ailerons (managed to bail out and survive though)

Has it been confimed yet? Did we get Göring or not?
Apparently I at least got his plane. When the "Göring carriers" got attacked I was miles away and barely saw the tracers, yet got a "Friendly Aircraft destroyed" message. Did I fly too close to them when IDing a few minutes earlier or what? Even the three Hurris downed after that didn't help because of the "unfortunate" attempt to land without elevator or rudder control Sometimes one should just listen to Schultz and NICHT LANDEN! Oh well, the Low Countries are soon done, France here we come! Last edited by Fincuan; 07-29-08 at 01:57 AM. |
