I occasionally fixed issues in the past with various games not by using the most recent, but an older driver. Currently, I also use an outdated driver to which I have "downdated" - but it runs pefectly with all software I am running.

This is not unreasonable, there is no reason to assume that the game necessarily must be fixed by using a driver that even was not existent at the time the last patch was released!

You may also want to try out if switching AA and AF on and off does anything positive for you.
