![]() ![]() In all seriousness, to CCIP's comment about Japan not being at war either (at sea) except for China. Well, my reading has indicated that the Japanese Navy was involved in supporting the Army's campaign in China, kind of like the USN did later in Vietnam, or in the Atlantic after Allied landings in Italy and France. Their naval airpower was involved, and even used from the carriers sometimes, and ships provided support (gunfire etc.) even saw a pic of a DD (not a frigate or such but a fleet DD) in the Yangtze. OF course, China had no real naval opposition, but the IJN was peripherally involved in a shooting war. |
