Default Getting Bot to hold peridepth at 0kts.

Hi
I'm loving the Bots. Great for holding at periscope depth while moving.
However not great for holding the depth when at 0kts and trying to measure the speed of a ship. I've been sunk by gunfire a couple of times for surfacing.

Any suggestions to help with this when single crewed?

Thanks

Hello

you have to put some water in the negative tank yourself.
0.4m3 according to some discord returns.

Yes, about half of the first tick. But that may be different by the end of tomorrow. Buoyancy tweaks are promised by the devs.

As fas as I know hovering any of the WWII era submarines at o Kts at periscope deep was a extremely difficult taks since without waterflow the dive planes are useless and only pumping in and out water was not very effective with very slow response time and risking broaching.
There is a minimum maneuvering speed required to keep an effective waterflow over the rudders and dive planes and I think 0 kts hovering at the precise periscope depth is too much to ask for a bot to perform it realistically.

1. Filling the ballast tanks.
2. Fill the negative tank with 0,04 m³ of water, about 40% of the first tick.
3. Level the boat to depths of 12 meters with the depth rudders.
4. Do N O T ask for help from the Def. If you do that the boat will surface after a while. You have to do it yourself!!!
5. Stop the boat.
6. Before the speed is zero knots control the depth again. Maybe you have to regulate the depth to 12 meter again (I bring my boat to 12,3 meter depth).
7. Happy Hunting.

With zero speed you need to add a bit more ballast to the trim tanks to compensate the lack of flow over the dive planes.

IMO it is too easy to balance the trim. The boat could do with being disturbed in the water a little (random perturbations).
