Icon9 SH5 does not start

[SOLVED]

Hello, dear mates!

Havent been here for a long time, as well as in the game
From some sources i have heard about tWoS megamod, and I became relly exited to get back into boat and send some cigars to fat freighters
But I cant get my game started. I installed it via uplay, and it does not start, the uplay screen with loading symbol is hanging on the screen and thats it. Tried to reinstall uplay and the game, tried different HDDs (C: also), tried all compatibility and admins rights - no effect. Just for experiment tried to install megamod. And the second problem (may be even biggest) is that Generic Patcher also doesnt start
I dont know what can i do.

Sorry for my English, guys.

UPD: OK, I figured out, that when I try to start SH5.exe or GenericPatcher in task manager appears 'dw20.exe microsoft .net error reporting shim (32 bit)'

I have final .NET framework included in Win10, as well as .NET 3.5 turned on in 'Windows Components'.

UPD2: As I didn't want to wait so long for solution, I did old-fashioned windows reinstall with C:-disc formatting And the game works
So I suppose there was some registry errors which i didn't manage to fix, and full windows reinstall was only a solution for me.

Hello,

not sure if I'm in the right place. I purchased SH5 through Steam and the game was working for me for about a week. Then one day the game stops working. It just won't start.

-I get the usual pop up "Silent Hunter 5 Battle of the Atlantic CD Key" window, I click play,
-I get the usual message "Do you want to allow this app from an unknown publisher to make changes to your device?", I click yes, my cursor briefly has an hour glass shape attached to it which was also what usually happens, then nothing.
-I'm on Windows 10
-It's set to run as administrator
-Compatability wass set for Windows XP Service Pack 3
-I've tried searching Google for every search term I can think up and am getting no where
-I've watched in task manager and can see the game briefly appear then disappear.

Anybody have this experience or have any suggestions please?

Default Issues with SH5

I used to run SH5 on Win 10 with no problems (WoS 1.6). I then got myself a new laptop, and I now can't get it to work with WoS 2.2.

Steps:
1. Clean Install of Sh5 and set the EXE to admin and not to use scaling
2. Download UPLAY
3. Run Sh5 and Update Sh5 through Uplay
4. Quit Sh5
5. Extraxt WoS
6. When the Generic Patch updater is restored, I get messages stating something like byte XXXXXX is not expected. Hence the Generic Patcher only shows two items (I recall from 1.6 it showed loads).
7. Update using the JSGME and install mods
8. Run WoS - and the game loads and shows Doentiz inspecting crew of whatever
9. Now when I try and enter a submarine, or museum mode the load screen happens, and just after the splash screen turns colour I crash to desktop.

Any help gratfully received. I have scoured the forums here and found nothing that has helped.

Intel i7-8750H (2.2 GHz, 6 Cores)
Memory 16 GB
NVIDIA GTX 1060
Driver NVIDIA 417.35

Thanks comrades.

What is the file path of your game?

Hi max
Do not install your game in the Program Files (x86) directly by choice as this has restrictions associated to it.
The default path should be C:\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter 5
This path is automatically recognized by the TWoS installation.

Run your game after the initial installation and updates to make sure it loads to the main menu and is showing v1.2.0 in the top right corner.
You can now install TWoS.

The reason why you are only showing 2 of the 9 patchers is you have installed the other 7 incorrectly possibly to the wrong path which is why you are getting the error message.
