Great pictures!

Though, are you sure of the date of this picture?
There is a nazi Kriegsmarine flag in the right side of the pic, and the nazis didn't get to the power before january 1933!
I presume it's 1940!

Didn't mean to critizise...

Yes, it was a typo. It supposed to be 1940.

@Kpt. Lehmann:

I decided to stop posting the pics, as it seems that all the photos that my friend sent me were from that book.

But sure, I can continue if you want... or just download the book!

I found this on a website. It said it was U-99 (Kretschmer). Can anyone tell me please if that's true? Is it Kretschmer?

If it´s U-99, then what are those numbers on the conning tower?

And what about that emblem on the fore conning tower? I though that Kretschmer´s boat used the horseshoe emblem. :hmm:

Another pic of the U-99, showing nothing on the fore conning tower.

Hi Khayman.

I wouldn't be so sure that the photo shows U99. I think he was sunk in mid-1941. And at that time u-boats surely didn't have the extended flak platforms yet.

One would have to check when U123 was sunk, because I spotted that number on the conning tower. And there is a symbol as well.

The next one posting will have the solution probably.

Cheers

Kai
