The Mighty Lolwaffles

So in our second campaign, in order to spice things up a little we are taking a B17 full of Lolwaffles across to visit the German military.
HunterICX was piloting, Arclight ball-gunner, Raptor top-gunner, Task Force fore-gunner, and I was the rear-gunner.

Our first mission was a cake-walk until we reached the target, the Raptor took a flak shell to the face and two other bombers found themselves in pieces across North-western France. However our bomber managed to return to base successfully where Raptor was hosed out of the top gun.

Waiting for take-off at RAF Boxted (which is odd since Boxted flew B-26s...but there you go).

Getting into formation

Passing over RAF Leiston

Now out over the North Sea, heading south-east towards St. Omer

Crossing the French coast, we wait for the German flak to party like it's 88.

Task Force deserts us while we line up for our bomb run, the first casualty of the group occurs ahead.

Bombs gone!

Now the flak wakes up and puts Raptor to sleep...permanently.

Despite the damage we make it back to England safely

And park up.

Lining up for the off

Climbing over East Anglia

A sudden swing to our left catches us all off guard, Arclight sees the top gunner of the bomber next door and I count the rivets of the B17 we almost collide with.

"I spy with my little eye...something beginning with..."
"Fighters, eleven o clock!"
"F...something beginning with F..."

They send an entire B17 squadron to take out one bridge...

...completely ignoring the still intact one next to it...

The entire Luftwaffe dives in on us...three aircraft...the P47 escort eats them for breakfast

One enemy aircraft came a little close, but was soon chased off by the escorts.

I go to see what the escorts are doing when...RED BARS OF DOOM (TM)

Chaos

The B17s go into the sea, orbit, and the land in equal measure...and then Raptors server boots me out.

Off we go again

To a in Düsseldorf

In formation over the North Sea

We arrive over Holland and Hunter offers to drop Arclight off at his house, but the AI decides it wants to go there first...

Curving into Düsseldorf through disappointingly light flak

Well...the bombs landed in the right city at least...so that's a start...

The Luftwaffe shows up and derps around the sky for a bit, taking out a couple of bombers...

While others decide its time to do aerobatics...

We approach Rotterdam on the way back, so Hunter decides to wake up the crew by taking a low pass under the bridge, removing our tail in the process...

So we got out, found a 'coffee' shop and 'flew' home.

Well, we where already that before reaching Rotterdam with Raptor cutting the fuel lines to feed his addiction.
