Reading your story was like seeing mi mission patrol again that was simular to what i have done, but i whent looking for the bloody carrier cause the Swordfish torpedo bombers where coming and coming again without stoping and it was anoying mi a lot....

the carrier was on the way to the english chanel one or to grids north of that position where bismark was, the thing was that i had almost no torpedos left and, the carrier was with a 3 escorts , one southampton light cruiser and two destroyers , I tryed to get as close as you can to a beast like that but you just have to dive to periscope deph cause off all the air cover and escorts patroling the surrondings of the carrier, but even like that i've manage to sink the carrier and had myself in a complicated situation cause the escorts didn't stoped pinging me for a long period of time, had to dive around the 40 meters and silent runing all the way, used to stop a number of times just to get them lose of me and slowlly whent out of there, with just one torpedo left on the back tube...

this was no doubt the best patrol i had untill know, not cause i've sunked this tonage and ships but for the fun that it was, and the feeling of really helping what i thought it was an unfair duel in numbers...

but it was after all nedless eforde from mi and my crew and boat, as in the and i had the same message as you had, saying that the blody batleship had been sunk after all...

Wow, cool stories. I'm still in my first campaign, heading into April 1941, and looks like the Bismark action takes place May 24th-27th. I hope I get to partake into it. My only worry is that I'll be resting at the base between patrols for a couple of weeks when May 24th-27th rolls around. I wonder if this does happen if there's a way around this, altering some file to make sure I'm put to sea on those May 24th-May 27th dates?

I love these stories, too bad the ending has been hard scripted into the game. You should save the ship and head back home as the "Hero of the Germanic Peoples" and retire in style to a nice corner away from the war.

Dang, I didn't get any of the radio messages telling me to go help the Bismark! I was hoping to partake in that action y'all described above. I was on a patrol in the area several days before May 27th, yet nothing ever happened all the way through the night of May 27th. What mods do you have running, or rather do not have running? I'm wondering if a mod got in the way of the regular campaign script and that's why I didn't get any commands for the Bismark. Any ideas? The only mod that I have installed that might affect the campaign scripts is Commander, yet I haven't changed anything in the options, so I was hoping the campaign would still run normal. I am willing to start the patrol over and try again if anyone has suggestions/ideas!

Hi Guys

Same thing here, i'm running a vanilla european version and arrived to grid Be53 on May 19th 1941, stayed there until May 28th with no results, once a day i submerged to 30 meters a did a manual hidrophone sweep with no results.

Can you post a map image of where to search for them ?

Cheers

two great stories there.

I've had these radio requests on my current campaign, but got the message fro BDu that it was all over before I could get down there

At least now I know its inevitable in the game and you cant change the course of history.... However it does sound like there is prime captial ship hunting available if you can get down to that area in time.
