Italian built
Hi to the Betasom team,
Any chance that perhaps you guys will be doing old style ships like the cruiser San Giorgio at Tobruk or ships that are Italian built like the Giorgios Averoff or the Thai cruiser Naresuan (w/c became the Italian cruiser Etna)? Just wondering, Mountbatten |

Thanks very much Willi
Really looking forward to anything Betasom builds. You guys are great!
Right now I'm making do with the Kent type cruisers for the Averoff - they're actually a pretty close match - and if it were possible to just add four secondary twin turrets and redo the superstructure of the Kent... Here's hoping, Mountbatten |

sister sister
Well, hope to see it sailing sometime. The Greek armoured cruiser Averoff was the sister ship of the Italian cruisers Pisa and Amalfi. Right now I'm just using the Norfolk to stand in for it but it doesn't have those four 7.5 twin turrets.
Hoping for some of those sweet old school ships someday! Mountbatten |

Capitan Romani Class
Are these in the works? Which present ships would be a good looking substitute for these would you think?
Many thanks, Mountbatten |

Italian built
Here are some great views of these fine Italian built warships:
http://warships.web4u.cz/lode.php?la...TRA&trida=Trad I was thinking if you guys were already doing Ariete perhaps a version of the Ariete with no turrets just guns would be similar to Trad. Also the design of the Etna/Naresuan class is quite similar to the Capitan Romani. http://warships.web4u.cz/lode.php?la...CLA&trida=Etna Kudos on the Gabbiano! That's a sweet boat! Mountbatten |

I have one question though. There are many UDF's which seem to be all exactly the same except for one field: Flag= 1,2,3 and so on up to 9. What does this mean?. |

By changing this Flag parameter you can change nationality of the ship. The model would fly the colors of the country which correspond to values 1.2.3 etc. Try it. Historically, after 09.43 some Gabbiano corvettes were taken over by Kriegsmarine and became German T class, after the war some became French, others - Soviet ships (WW2 reparations). It's one of the great features of SH2/DC - customization.
Hey, ask Mountbatten, should he have time he can do magnificent repaints the ships. He could make you German T out of Italian Gabbiano

Thanks for the plug Bruno and yes I can (would love to!) do a repaint of the Gabbiano if you'd give me the colors or samples. I'm actually planning to use the old Gabbiano (DC version) as the German Vorpostenboote - I know should have a longer slimmer funnel - and I got a few new things kicking around in the cruiser category, repaints all though.

I had tried only in the viewer and there I could see no changes.
After setting up a quick mission in the game itself, now I've realised that penant numbers change with every different UDF, but not the flag itself: they're all waving Italian flag. |

@Mountbatten
Sure. Here is wartime Gabbiano in color Another Gabbiano Yet another These are color schema for NTP Orsa. Yet the same colors were applied to Gabbiano as well. Here are color schema in color using NCL Scipione Africano (Class Capitani Romani) and now NCL Duca D'Aosta This is German WWI veteran T class in Mediterrenian camo. T-3 actually Here's German starndard German T in the North Sea camo 'Kondor' and 'Falke'. Vorpostenboote should be in the same colors. Lots of them were just converted peacetime fishers. Cheers, Bruno O Mamma mia! What is that in my scope - Italian built?

Vorposten done
I'll do the ratty rusty one as the Vorpostenboot and use your camo for the T version.
Thanks very much Bruno, Mountbatten |
