I just tryed this file, but i have to say...the fog is overdone, because the ship at long range (over 13 km) seems to float over the water (Not IN the water
![]() And the night is too dark. The rest is good ![]() |

There are actually a lot of reasons why I didn't include the horizon fog in the Atmosphere mod.
"It just doesn't look right," is one of my reasons. The fog looks fine for 8km visual range, but it doesn't work well with 16km. I believe it was Manuel Ortega who got rid of it, and I think he made a good decision. From long distances, sometimes the fog makes ships look like they are floating above the water, and sometimes they look like they are under the water. That effect doesn't sit well with me...

These files are one of multiple options; i can provide other solutions
with the fog without totaly suppress it. |

I like the concept of your better LOD, but unfortunately you use the huge moon in your scene.dat files, so I will keep my scene.dat file since mine has the smaller moon.
I would like to know though where you adjusted the water LOD numbers (hex or otherwise) so I could improve my scene.dat LOD from a "1" to a "2". Thanks for the continued tweaking. P.S. I to prefer the no fog at 16 km, fog looks great at 8 km, but not 16 km. |

I am making some corrections to to the fog,i have forgotten some values
to adjust the spotting distance up to the horizon, my actual tests give me a real improvement. For the LOD values i will enter a new option with a LOD value of 2 in the next release. On the subject of the Moon, sun and others stellar objects i didn't made any changes from the others 16Km Visibility mods and the textures for the sun, moon are the stock game ones. For the darkness of the sky at night: the scene.dat files doesn't rule the sky textures and i didn't made any changes to the the ambient light in the scene.dat file. I will uploaded another pack as soon as possible. |

Kaleunt:
Yes, I know that you used the Atmosphere 2.0 scene.dat, but it has the large moon too. That is why I managed to find a scene.dat file with all the other sun, sky, etc enhancements and a small moon, so I want to keep this scene.dat file as my basis. Could you please tell me what numbers to change so I can impliment your LOD 2 into my Scene.dat file. Thanks |

Does anyone have a tip for a tool where I can extract and repack .obj files from .DAT files. I want any tool except for the "Pack3D" that I simply can't get to work at all ![]() |

Well, I have a tool named "IZArc35". It can extract .obj files. But not pack them.
