Are there any realism mods out there?
I have MMP installed but I don't think that affects it. Does it really take up to five 88mm shells to knock out a T-34 from the front? |

The MMP mod does affect realism, Makes it more realistic. But A tiger should punch through a T-34 easily out to 2,000+ meters

Why engage a tank at the front where its armour is thickest?

penetration doesn't necessarily mean a killshot.
the US had this problem in the first gulf war, the sabot rounds the M1's fired would go clean through a BMP and not kill it. I'm sure you can say the same for T-34's and Tigers. remember the sloped armor might be deflecting your rounds as well. but a penetration doesn't always mean a kill. you could have simply blown the radio apart and wounded the driver, but that doesn't mean you hit the rounds in the turret or killed the gunner.

I aim for the turret if they are facing me, otherwise the side and rear if I can.
But yes, I do feel they are largely difficult to knock out when hitting the front plate (same as the SU-85). |

after that, I'd go for the tracks.

Thanks for the tips guys.
What about hitting the ammo compartment from the front, is this possible? |

I believe the ammo is stored in a basket that is under the turret in T-34's. Or, right in front of the engine. a good shot on the engine compartment (on the side, under the back part of the turret) is almost a guaranteed killshot, if memory serves me right

from the front you say?
![]() I dont think the round would make it. once it hits the round loses at least 80-90% of its kinetic energy, and theres a lot of equipment and humanity to go through (even if its only about 1.5 meters from the front) to hit the ammo. one penetrating shot can hit, dismember the driver, destroy the radio, and at best spray the legs of the commander with shrapnel, which, I'm sure you know, isn't lethal to a round in the turret, and the likelihood of hitting one juuuust right is about the same margins as getting struck by lightning. and thats taking it realistically, I think the game separates the tank into separate compartments (front, engine, mid/crew, turret) and any hit will stay in the compartment you hit.

Based off Wikipedia (I know I know..) T34/85s could engage Tigers at 100/500m range.
Answer? Engage them from further out. Do not give away your position and wait for a clean shot to the track or engine compartment. If I recall, Tigers could penetrate T-34s at the 1-1.5km mark no? That gives you 1000m breathing room from when the T-34 can effectively engage you.
