You're right. I forgot the LeMat. And I even helped write rules for it for a boardgame I worked on with a friend!

The same friend collects older weapons. He owns a Sharps, a rolling-block Remington, an 1870s-era pisotl he got from a guy carrying it around a gun show in a box ("Grandpa died, and we found it in his attic. We don't want the damned thing in the house!"). He also has a big bunch of Uberti replicas, including a .58 caliber Civil War-style muzzle-loading rifle, which is a hoot to shoot.

I love buying things from people who don't know what they have.

Especially when you say "I'll give you fifty bucks for it" and they say "Okay, sure."

Well I thank the law that every handgun in the UK is regulated because I've been involved with one or two of the consequences when it wasn't but I do recognise the difference in the law between our two countries and the attitudes/principles/laws of our population.

My collection isn't as big as it once was, had to sell some, mostly Civil War rifles, some have decent value, some are POS I dug out of the groud metal detecting.

Best gun is a Confed. Richmond rifle musket, last value around 7K, but others selling lower these days. Economy keep going to hell, I'll probably have it auctioned off.

I hunt with a Winchester 3006. I have a nice shooting German 7MM mauser with the original sniper adjustable sites. The site giving it value, but only worth about $1300.

Have about 100 other worthless guns I've bought on construction sites.

Do these count as a collection?

Or is it just the one item?
