You know I normally try to avoid negative posts but well - such a long time to wait for so little in the way of a patch!

Sure Ubi and the developers must be thanked for their efforts - though I wonder if there will be any continuing support for the game after this -

This is really a little paltry - considering the woefull state of the game

On a lmore positive note I wonder if any one at Ubi can confirm - were there enogh global sales of this game to merit future add-ons or patches or is this Good Night And Close?

The modders are keeping me interested, just, the publishers dont seem to give a dam

Best Regards to Subsimmers

I think, imho, it will be curtains...
there are more lucrative games under their licence,
the newest list of fixes has decreased (seemingly),
as kylania said in another thread, their other game releases have attained numerous patches already,
a lot more support than SH5...
not looking good.

Maybe the Devs ran into problems with the patch..... But as it was taking soooo long they dropped the items that they were having problems with. And hopfully will be working on the items dropped from the patch list, next.
Lets hope that the support will continue.

Well we can only hope. Although i must admit, its not looking promising.

Default Ah good

There are always little fixes that they forgot to mention. Let's hope there are also no little additional problems that they have implemented.

Still no gramophone? What were they thinking?

I would think that a properly-functioning stadimiter is a whole lot more important than the gramophone.

SH 5 MODS Workshop = 16.000 post

Silent Hunter 4 = 160.000 post
SH 4 MODS Workshop = 100.000 post

Forum stats on the front page only go back to July 2005, ie four months after SH3 was released. To get the correct SH3 figures, you need to tally up the (unique) posts in the archived forum as well... http://www.subsim.com/phpBB_archive1/

Exactly, just like the torpedo props not turning which is only a visual thing, and only nice if you unrealisticly follow it just to watch it.
I personally dont care about this.
I want the functionality things fixed, and as for the gramaphone I fixed that myself with a simple cfg file change, same as the radio and a few others.

We need them to fix what we cannot.

I´ll tell you... they think: let´s release this last patch for this bloody fanatic community and this ... game. It has to be the worst selling game in the last years... and so they are focusing on new projects as the 50% developed SH5 does not produce any good rumor or sales. They won´t be able to make any profit.. so hopefully that´s it with ubisoft!!

I pray that we will get another well done Silent Hunter from any other publisher!! But for the next 4-7 years... there will be nothing in my eyes.

UBI.. you drove the car into the wall !!!

What happened to this?
•SH4 ships can now be imported (useful for modders)

You can fix everything you like but without a good varied selection of merchants and warships for all nations. The is no immersion at all.

Have stopped playing the game due to seeing the same ships over and over again.
So i really hope that the above fix has not been dropped from the patch.

I guess one just hopes that the omission is simply typical Ubisoft incompetence in cutting and pasting...

...otherwise, yeah, well, add another year until SH5 surpasses SH3.

Anyway, I didn't think this feature would be necessary? Didn't SH5 ship with a number of mod tools used by the devs? Didn't Ubisoft claim SH5 to be the most moddable of the series? Yet we had cloned units ("additional merchants") less than two months after SH3 release, and that occurred without any special import function. And weren't people porting SH3 ships over to SH4 within mere weeks? Why then, is such a feature necessary for the most moddable game of the series?

Maybe Ubisoft realized that if they put this option in the patch, they can't sell later their own payware AddOn or DLCs with additional ships because everything has already been made by the community.
