Ok chaps, I've got a few MDF missions we can play like last nights Midway, but they are going to tire rather quickly I'd say, so if you want to keep your ears to the ground and pick up any ideas for co-op campaigns that we can use in between Raptor missions. I think Pacific campaigns might be an idea because we've done the Western theatre to death with the Luftwaffe, ok, we've got the problem with long distances to work around though, so that's something to think about.
I will also take a look at DCG, although at first glances I can see why Hunter wanted to rip it out and force feed it hydrochloric acid, it's not exactly the most user friendly device ever created but there's not exactly a huge amount of choice about and if we want to keep going we need to find missions to fly. If you chaps want to take a bash at crafting some co-op missions too then that's brilliant, but it's understandable if the FMB leaves you cold, it makes me go at times too. |

Well, I rather enjoyed the MDF mission yesterday, so flying them in between missions would be great.
I'm checking the feasibility of a Malta campaign now; it mostly depends on how much information I have, so if any of you have some good, detailed online sources that would be helpful.

It would be nice though if those missions were not 1.5 hours long. The defenders of Midway were under constant attack and there was no time to take a breath for us. 1.5 hours of scrambling, emptying your guns into some planes, high speed landing to avoid being shot down on finals, taking a new aircraft, scramble...repeat. I was totally exhausted afterwards. Maybe the waves of enemy planes should have longer intervals between each other too. Like this a coordinated flight was impossible. Everyone was just scrambling and going after targets (let alone that we have all been on the same TS channel).

Yeah, I have no real control over the waves of fighters but that did seem rather excessive. You held yourselves well though, I didn't see that many fighters going back to the carriers after they'd hit Midway.
What's the thoughts on leaving the map icons off? I found it gave a bit more of an experience trying to find the island, having to 'channel Drake' On other maps such as the BOB maps it should be a spot easier to locate targets, but it's up to you guys. |

I think you are confusing map icons and the minimap paths.

We could try turning off the map paths and seeing how it goes, could be fun if we can manage not to screw everything up.
No luck on Malta yet (I was sure I had some books on the subject, but I don't...), so in the meantime I'll do a FAA carrier mini-campaign centering on the naval battles in the Med.

Raptor, if you want any info on the Swordfish ops let me know, I have a nice book by a Swordfish pilot from HMS Illustrious who took part in Taranto.

Well, that was quite an enjoyable MDF, I hope Schroeder gets that new patch issue sorted so we're ready to roll on Monday.
Hmmm, someone forgot to change their nationality since yesterday... Task Force, with correct nationality markings, a few seconds before Oberon killed him with his engine |

@Oberon
I think you are the last person here who should complain about wrong markings. BTW we aren't going to make a swordfish campaign, are we? I mean that thing doesn't even have proper physics......so that wouldn't be much fun IMHO.
