Say What!

Never heard of that one before, If the computer locks with the sound repeated then a system fault I'd say, but if you can exit the game and the sound is still repeating then I'd say ....... crap who knows, system still! Shore is a wierd one, you could try running the game with no sound to see if it locks at the same point. It maybe the computer is overloaded (not enough ram) for all the mods you have installed, or thr updating sound drivers/DirectX.
Good Luck!

I'm not sure if this is what you're experiencing, but there does seem to be a sound looping issue of a sort with GW, based on what I've seen in some other posts and experienced myself. One of the interior submerged sounds starts to loop from time to time (I've never been able to pin it down to any specific/repeatable event) and while it doesn't really lock up the game or the PC you basically have to restart the game (or at least exit to the menus) to stop the looping.

I saw a thread a while back that may have had an explanation of how to modify a particular sound file to solve the problem, but I wasn't experiencing the problem at that time so I didn't pay much attention to it and then when I did start having the problem I couldn't find the thread again. It only happens to me rarely so I just quit and reload and it hasn't bothered me much.

It was a thread about the creaks I had pointed the way to from SHII's Das Boot Sound Mod. Some of the creaks were longer than a minute and would start to repeat and get stuck. Sometimes surfacing or diving would make them stop; sometimes they would stop all by themselves and sometimes not.

I thought GW had shortened and fixed them, but I don't know for sure. Anyway, that's where it started.

I've also heard that shortening the files to less than 15 seconds long would work, but again I don't know.

Thanks guys,my sound drivers are up to date but it is possible that my poor computer is overloaded, 2,0 G P4 and 1024 RAM ,about 3 years old rig.
Checked only if this is known problem.Must try GW also in my laptop.

Sailor Steve is right. Just put back the stock creaks sounds again. The new ones (not only on GW) are the cause of the problem.

HA! You think you have an old PC. I'm playing GW on a 5y old PIII 1.2GHz PC - runs like a dream !

Since installing the GW mod, I've noticed sometimes the flak gun will 'lock up'.

Also, for some reason, things get laggy when I go to manage the crew. Runs like silk everywhere else.

The flak gun lock-up is a stock bug.
