Default Unusual sunset and sunrise times?

I'm in a campaign, the date is April 21, 1942 in grid CA65 and it doesn't get dark until around 2345 hrs and light until 0830 to 0900 hrs. Does that sound unusual?

Keep in mind the time zone difference. The time you see is GMT; 23:45 in Britain is only 18:45 in grid CA.

Hold your mouse cursor on the clock and it tells you the local time.

I did several times in different time zones and though the cursor turned red, neither the clock in the command room, or on the control panel, showed local time.

Hi,

No, they mean the clock in the Interface bar along the bottom of the screen!

Bottom right...

You must be patched up to at least 1.3 (I think) for this feature to work.

Your clocks are not set to GMT, but to German time which is the Central European Time Zone. This was standard practice during the war.

The clocks in the SHIII sub actually do seem to show GMT (Greenwich Mean Time). (when in English waters, local time = U-boat clock; when in German waters, local time differs by one hour from the U-boat clock)
I think this is an error in SHIII since, as you say, German U-boats would've probably used German time!

I never bothered to check as I figured that anyone who knew enough about WWII to attempt to make a sim about one aspect of it would have known that U-boats showed CET. Shows what I get for assuming the developers knew what they were doing.

Mods are irrelevant - the fix came in an official Ubisoft patch. I just can't remember if it was 1.2 or 1.3.

FWIW I run GW with some RUb tweaks.

Also Latitudes will change the sunrise and sunset times. Just take England for example. The southern part of England is about equal in latitude to Edmonton Alberta. The northern part of England is at around North 60 degrees. At this time of year it is light to 11:00 pm (2300).
