Default Water density settings not effective.

Using SH3 Commander I'm trying to set the water density to something I can get some clear screenshots from for an animation film, but the SH3 Commander setting control no longer seems to work. I've tried it at both ends of the range (1 and 20) but it seems hardwired at about 4 or so, the RUB standard.

I'm pretty sure I'm using the SH3 commander control correctly, as I've used it before to change the density, and have tried it on different settings with different checkboxes etc, and looking at the INI file in the SH3 Commander's folder shows me the values are being saved.

Anyone have any idea why it wouldn't work?

I don't know.

Does RuB change the density, or the texture alpha? I was under the impression that RuB was changing the actual texture.

It must have somethings to do with the Scenes.dat. file.

Maybe tweaking the file via Timetraveller's Mini Tweaker will solve your problem.

The setting only "kicks in" when you launch SH3 via the SH3Cmdr interface. In other words, opening SH3Cmdr, setting a value and then closing SH3Cmdr will have no effect on the game. But I assume you are launching SH3 via SH3Cmdr...

The density value is one of the last values written into the game, so provided the option is selected, there should be no problems. Of course, if you have a mod installed that modifies scene.dat, and somehow the file is corrupt or the content has been incorrectly changed by the creator, you may have problems. So, did the problem commence after installing a mod that changed scene.dat? Did SH3Cmdr give you any "Unable to write to file" errors? Apparently there's a mod out there with a read-only scene.dat included which is a real pain.
