Default Jase’s 360° Bearing Mod for the NAV Map...Question.

I just started using Jase’s 360° Bearing Mod for the NAV Map.
The graphic is great and the rotation with the boat’s heading is very intuitive
for us aviation types used to this representation.

My question; is there a means of changing the zoom level at which the compass rose appears?
I’d lke to be able to see it at a less extreme zoom level in order to initiate my target intercepts.

Thank you in advance.

I never managed to figure that out. I was tied to the Uboat black outline on the map, and that remains "in scale" ideally I wanted to duplicate the one from the attack map onto the nav map, but I wasn't able to. It was one of the first mods out, and nobody really knew much about how to make it scalable, however, now people have made all sorts of nav tools and GUI items, I guess it may be possible to fix that. If anyone wants to try, I still have the original graphics files..

There was a large version that was twice the size, it should be in the zip you downloaded.

Navigate to your \SHIII\data\menu\cfg folder and open the Maps.cfg file in notepad. Look for the [Map0] entry and the line:

SymbolZoom=10;

Change the SymbolZoom value to one of the ones in the ZoomLevels line right above. If you don't like any of those zoom levels you can add your own. For example stock zoomlevels:

ZoomLevels=1,2,5,10,20,50,100,200,500,1000,2000,40 00,10000,20000,40000; meters per pixel

I want to add a zoomlevel:

ZoomLevels=1,2,5,10,15,20,25,50,100,200,500,1000,2 000,4000,10000,20000,40000; meters per pixel

And then I change the zoom at which the protractor appears:

SymbolZoom=15;

Hope this helps.

Oh, and there is a limit to which zoom level you want to pick. Don't pick the biggest zoom level (if it even works...don't know...haven't tried it) because you won't get opportunity contacts on the map. I would suggest staying below zoomlevel 50.
