Default Waterline of some ships ?

Hello,
i'm currently using patch 1.4b and RUB 1.42 with a few additional mods.

Now the Flower class corvette and the C2 freighters as well as the C3 ones are riding very high in the water. For the Flower class this looks absolutely unrealistic, the freighters do not seem to carry any cargo or ballast. Anyone else experienced this ?

Greetings,
Catfish

Yes, me too. C2 and C3 are looking like 2m less in the water, and a corvette is almost gliding on it.

Ditto about the Corvettes. Can't really say about the C2/3s.

I'm to blame for the corvettes -

but the C3's must be your imagination...

The corvettes I've raised a little to help prevent storm sinkings, but actually it looks like they haven't been that affected. It's only higher by exactly 20cm though, a tiny margin. I think I'll contact Beery about this before RUb 1.43 is out.

Not that it bothers me.

But C2 and C3 also look a bit high in the water.

These are default, checked. The C3 even seems to be lower than usual for some reason.

I think you're mistaking the paint scheme for the actual draft :hmm:

C2s and C3s may ride high in the water if you're using SH3 Commander, because at some times they are carrying less cargo and therefore they should ride high. If you're not using SH3 Commander, then I'm not sure what the problem could be, because RUb doesn't alter the C2/C3 draft.

i've never ever seen a storm sink a corvette. In fact often I wish they would. in real storms corvettes were often messed up. SO why mess with it?

Oh don't worry, they sunk anyways. And I don't believe Corvettes are supposed to sink every time they stop for a hydrophone check in rougher seas... (though I doubt they'd actually be doing hydrophone checks in seas like that to start with - hey, that's reality vs. game for you)

I already sent Beery the correction. Call it an unsuccessful experiment - these things happen when you have so many different things that could potentially be wrong in the game.

Hello,
thanks for the info, the corvette thing is new, but the C2s have been high in the water since before the first patch. The C3s looked strange as well, all of them. I guess i never saw one with enough cargo to make it ride lower in the water, only in the training torpedo mission - i see the cargo on the deck, but it has no effect.
I'm not using SH3 commander yet -
Greetings,
Catfish

Yes, it is possible.
