I've been pulling my hair out trying to get the Brodega222 wide map version of the ARB wide gui 1920x1080 to work. I've followed the instructions to the letter and when I run the 'TychoSH3.bat' I get a 'failed' message. I still can run SH3, but the right side of the enlarged map is a frozen pane. I'm not using 'H.Sie' or the 'Stiebler add-on'.
I think the trouble is with the workfolder. Am I supposed to extract the workfolder, as a folder in the SH3 root folder and move the SH3.exe into the WorkFolder, patch it and move it back to the SH3 rootfolder? Questions: 1. Does it matter where I put the WorkFolder? 2. I'm running the Steam version of SH3 but it's on a different drive. I'm running GWX 3.0 Gold and it runs perfectly. 4. If and when I finally get it working, where do apply the 0.3.1 Hotfix? Any help with this would be appreciated! I'm usually good at getting changes like this installed, but this one has me stumped. ![]()

I feel your pain, man. I spent most of yesterday fooling around with this mod - not a problem in the present pandemic life - and finally got it to work. I am running a steam version of SH3, no mega mod, and I did install the HSIE patch, which I understand includes the 4GB_PATCH, before I ran the TychoSh3Patch_v3
I unzipped the Tycho patch onto the desktop where it arrived in it's own folder. I copied the SH3.exe into that folder and performed the patch. Then I copied the patched SH3.exe back into the Silent Hunter 3 game folder which resides in the steamapps/common folder. I enabled ARB WideGui 1920x 1080 with JSGME and have not enabled the ARN 3.1 mod - at least not yet. today I plan to experiment with 3.1 and a few other graphics enhancement mods. just fyi, I had been trying to get this mod working before with GWX installed and it would crash. After much frustration it ended up that every run of SH3 would crash no matter which mods were enabled/disabled so I did a clean install and experimented with no mega mod, as described above. |

Do I just replace the existing SH3 executable (after backup)? Do I keep ARB wide screen in the mods folder or does it go somewhere else? Do I need to install the H.Sie patch and other hot fixes? Thanks in advance ![]()

Yes just drop the SH3.EXE in the main silent hunter folder.
Please back up your original SH3.EXE FIRST!! rename name it SH3.bak or something on these lines. The ARB widescreen mod needs to be installed via JSGME mod enabler: 1st>ARB WideGui 1920x1080 v0.3 then 2nd>ARB WideGui 1920x1080 v0.3.1 hope this helps |

I did all as suggested and I still can't get it to work...oh well. I'll just use ARB wide gui as is.
