Default What ? No nazi base on the Moon ?

Have always thought that if they(the nazis) had a base it had to be on the backside of the Moon.

It doesn't look that way

When the Soviet spacecraft Luna 3 transmitted the first images from the other side of the moon it was expected it would look pretty much like the side we are familiar with. Instead they saw none of the “seas” visible to Earthly astronomers with small telescopes

Personally I think the notion of a clandestine pre-Apollo mission to the moon would make a great science fiction story. Of course if you're going to pit Indiana Jones against the Nazis at their lunar base, you'll have to sneak in a lot of Fritz Lang references...maybe a female metal robot to boot.

America were first with their B-24 but the Russians conveniently overlooked this.

Well, I have a nit to pick. The plane in the picture is not a B-24, but a Consolidated B-32 Dominator.

See, I told you so. It's a hoax. No B-24 has the range to get to the Moon (Selene)!

This got me looking. The wing is too high for a B-32, and the PB4Y-2 had two turrets on top and the "moon" pic doesn't have a turret on the nose. I'm now suspecting the Ford XB-24N.

Not all have the turrets on top anymore used as firefighters (extremely dangerous-wing failures) and returned to a museums etc
